Red Sox 4, Blue Jays 6:
    We’re going to the Dance!

Again with the blinking and the time flying by, and here we are in the final week of regular baseball, with 6 games to go, getting reading to start the playoffs next week.

So the 6-game winning streak ended in last night’s loss and 3 is STILL the magic number to win the division, although the Skanks are 4 games behind, so it’s probably going to happen. But, no matter what, the Skanks are going to the dance as well.

Which means it is very likely the Sox will have to face them at some point.

    More Blech…

Maybe it is just me, but the thought of facing the Skanks no longer fills my heart with dread–nausea perhaps, but not dread. And they have been playing well, so I like their chances. If I were a betting woman, I’ probably say they have at last enough mojo to get pretty far into the postseason. And while I am not, if YOU are, NetBet Sport has everything you need to do so.

However, I am a bit concerned about the injuries that are piling up, at a time when anything can happen in a short series. These guys need to be RESTING. Mookie Betts has wrist pain, Eduardo Nunez has knee pain–and probably came back too soon, and made it even worse knee pain…and these are the Young-uns! They shouldn’t be hurting this bad! UGH…

It’s probably too early to start thinking about post season matchups, although my prognostication skills ARE pretty legendary (BAD, that is) but it looks like the Sox will play Houston, and the Skanks will play the Twins (how the FRACK did they make it to the postseason???) in the 1 game sudden death match, which I fervently hope the Skanks crash and burn in. Then Cleveland will play whoever wins that game to decide the ALDS.

Holy hell, this is complicated. And that’s only the first round! Still have to do the ALCS and the WS. Honestly, this 2-Game Wild Card thing, for a 1 game playoff, is a total waste of time. But then again, it could be worse–they could play a whole series, and Santa would be throwing out the first pitch of the World Series…UGH…

Back next week with some predictions (unless I blink and miss the whole thing…)

Coming up: The 2nd to last (or penultimate, if we want to get fancy) game against Toronto for the 2017 campaign. Chris Sale, going for his 18th win, and who should probably be RESTING FOR THE POSTSEASON takes the bump against JA Happ. 1st pitch: 7:10pm
