    October 10, 2016:
Is Today REALLY the Last Day of the Season???

Posted by Christine E. at 5:38 pm in Baseball,Old Friends,Random Thoughts,Red Sox No Comments

Or, even worse, the last day we get to see the Large Father play for the Boston Red Sox? I’m not ready to let go yet! They are a better team than this! How can there be a world without David Ortiz and his clutch performances to save the day????

I suspect the Sox are done. I know, I know, down 0 and 3 in the 2004 ALCS to the Skanks and no one in baseball has ever come back in the history of baseball, blah, blah, blah. But this year it just feels different. The BEST pitcher on the Red Sox, Rick Porcello (a 22-game winner! Could actually win the Cy Young!) got wrecked last week. And do not even get me started on David Price. And really, if the Sox win tonight, then David Price is in line for Game 5. I think we all can guess what will happen there, IF by some miracle they got that far…

I just do not want to be swept at Fenway…is that really too much to ask??? So if the baseball gods could just have them win tonight, I will feel much better about the season ending this week.

Oh hell, who am I kidding???? I will be MASSIVELY disappointed there will be no Cub/Sox World Series–cause that would have been epic…and it will suck out loud that David Ortiz will have his astounding career end with a whimper…

But like I said to my Dad yesterday (If you’re just tuning in, my Dad is a life-long Cleveland Indians fan who just wants to see them win again in his lifetime, cause he was like FIVE the last time it happened…) If your guys are gonna beat the Sox, you had better beat EVERY ELSE and win this freaking thing…

I’ll not only stand by that statement, but will root for Cleveland for as far as they go.

In a move I do not think anyone saw coming, Toronto swept the team with the best record on the AL–The Texas Rangers. Last night’s contest was a 10 inning affair which ended in a very strange way which included an upheld challenge by the Rangers, a force out, and a throwing error by the Ranger’s second baseman, Roughed Odor. No, that is not a typo…He also has a brother, Roughed Odor. No, that is not a typo either. They have different middle names… Before this, He was best known for punching Toronto’s Jose Bautista in the face in May of this year. So I am thinking there was some bad blood there…

I just hope the Sox do not end up like the Rangers, packing up the clubhouse tomorrow…

Coming up: The postponed game, which has allowed the Sox to live another day. That Clay Person takes the mound, opposed by his junior college friend Josh Tomlin. First pitch: 6:00pm.

The biggest game OF THE YEAR. Started by That Clay Person. The headcase who does not like pressure. Holy Hell, why does this feel like John Burkett vs Andy Pettitte in Game 6 of the 2003 ALCS against the Skanks?? That one turned out OK (At least until @!^&*(@^&*^&@*!^*& Aaron Boone in the heart breaker that was game 7), so maybe this one will be OK too?
