    November 6, 2015: 104, 114, 116 and 149…

So the 2015 Campaign is over, with the KC Royals beating the Mets in 5 games to become World Series Champions. While it was not the World Series I would have like to have seen, the outcome was acceptable, cause the thought of the Mets winning, kinda made me queasy. While I do not actively hate them like the Skanks, their owners suck, and I’m not a fan of most of their players…so there is that.

Now the Hot Stove will be heating up, and all eyes turn to Dave Dombrowski to see what he can do to fix this messy state of affairs…

And one of the first things he did already was activate That Clay Person’s $13 million option for 2016. While I know it probably makes sense, as when he is “on”, he is more than worth $13 million dollars. Unfortunately, when he is “on” is sandwiched in between “horribly abysmal”, and “injured in some freak accident that keeps him out for ridiculously long periods of time”. But if he can be used as trade bait, I’m good with that…

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the Sox ALSO hold ANOTHER option on Buchholz for 2017 for $13.5 million…

So, it is quite possible the Sox will go after ace David Price in the offseason, and the question has been asked if the issues between him, and Big Papi would be an issue to his signing. Interesting thoughts. However, if someone said to you: I’m going to pay you millions of dollar a year–but you have to work with someone you really don’t like. Is this going to be a problem? Yeah, didn’t think so, since most of us probably work with at least one person they don’t like, and we’re not making millions…

Coming up: we are baseball-less for the next bunch o’months: Pitchers and Catchers Report on Thursday February 19th, which is 104 days. The First “real” game (if you count the annual drubbing of the college teams, Boston College and Northeastern University) is Leap Year, February 29th, 114 days away…And the first game against, you guessed it, Minnesota, is 116 days away, on March 2nd , 2016.

And all of that seems like a LIFETIME….

And if you really want a lifetime away, how bout April 4th, the first day of the 2016 campaign, when the Sox travel to balmy Cleveland to play Terry Francona’s Indians. 149 Days….

Can I just say how much I hope hope HOPE That Clay Person is NOT the starter on that day???
