    October 29, 2015: A Mets/Royals World Series…

    Posted by Christine E. at 9:33 pm in Baseball,Old Friends,Random Thoughts,Red Sox Comment (1)

    Yawn…

Yes, I had my heart set on a Cubs/Blue Jay World Series, and I really have no huge issue with each team, except for the fact that I think the owners of the Mets are some of the most classless individuals in baseball…Which is why if I have an opinion on who to root for, it would be KC–which is working out because they are currently 2-0…

But otherwise, the two of them together. In the World Series. Bleh…Just not feeling it…

But then again, most of this season has been pretty Bleh for me, and I am not even really sure why. Yes, the Sox sucked for most of it, but there always seemed to be something else to do, rather than watching Hanley play abysmal left field, or Panda put on more weight, or That Clay Person suck us in AGAIN with a streak of good pitching, only to hurt himself with a season ending injury…

I just hope Dave gets some pitching, because there was NO WAY IN HELL the Boston Red Sox should have put out a starting 5 consisting of Buchholz, Ric Porcello, Joe Kelly, Justin Masterson, and Wade Miley. Ben, honestly, did you REALLY think that was gonna fly?

Speaking of Ben, rumor has it that he was offered a job with the Skanks, which he turned down (THANKFULLY), and instead will be teaching a class at Columbia on leadership in sports as part of their Master’s program. Apparently he is doing this instead of jumping right back on with another team, although he could probably do both if the right opportunity presented itself…

Congratulation to Xander Bogaerts on getting nominated for a Golden Glove. Completely deserved. But who was not nominated was Mookie Betts. Let’s just file this under: W…T…F…??

Speaking of. Former Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. has decided to move out of the office and onto the field, as the Red Sox’s new first-base coach/outfield instructor, replacing Arnie Beyeler. It’s a neat move, but after retiring as a ballplayer , he went right into management, so he has no coaching experience. His thoughts on the matter: “At the end of the day, I felt like this opportunity is one that doesn’t arrive all that often. I have been thinking about getting back on the field in some capacity…I’m excited that John and Dave have given me the opportunity to do, and I’ll focus on being the best first-base/outfield/ base running coach I can be…” Before being let go by the Phillies in September, he was GM for them since 2008…

And with the good news the John Farrell is now in remission, the Sox do not have to worry about that going into the offseason…Although Torey Lovullo did fill in admirably since mid-August when Farrell was diagnosed with Stage 1 Lymphoma.

Someone who will also be back is Jerry Remy, who will be the color guy for 100 games in 2016. Steve Lyons and Eck will also appear from time to time, alongside new play by play guy Dave O’Brien who replaced the beloved DO, who is now that guy for the Padres…

Coming up: Game 3 of the World Series, heading back to NYC. Halloween Night. Mets vs KC. 1st pitch: 8:00pm…

    Yawn…
