    Red Sox 1, Rangers 2:
    AGAIN with the Sleeping Offense…

Holy Buckets. There seems to be a proportionately large number of low scoring games these days. And while it is certainly a good thing Joe Kelly did pitch very well in his 7 innings of work, it means NOTHING if the bats do NOTHING…and with THREE opportunities with the bases loaded–they deserved to lose this game…

Xander Bogaerts, of all people, contributed the only runs the Sox got in the contest–a solo shot at the top of the 5th inning. But then again, this was Phil Klein’s first start in the bigs, and we all know that the Sox inexplicably suck against pitchers they have never seen before…

The rest of Kelly’s line: 2 runs on 7 hits (including a homer) while walking 1 and striking out 7. He threw 108 pitches, 68 for strikes. Again. Great effort. But completely wasted…

While there was no structural damage (thankfully) on Sandoval’s knee, it’s still not super clear when he’ll be back in the lineup, although the injury is not expected to require a DL stint.

As we know Bobby V was with ESPN for last night’s game. And cause he cannot help himself, he did an interview. Surprisingly, he did take credit for the crappy season, but in a delusional moment, it actually never occurred to him that the Sox would not honor the 2nd year of his contract, and he was shocked when he was fired. You can read all it about it here…Honestly, that guy is a piece of work…

Speaking of pieces of work, I used to love Josh Hamilton. I used to think he was a great guy to root for because he surmounted extreme obstacles to beat addiction and take his life back. Now, 5-6 years later, and the countless relapses, and the declining refusal to take responsibility for his actions–it’s just getting very very OLD…

Coming up: The rubber match of this 3-game series. That Clay Person (going for this THIRD quality start. In. A. Row–Shocking!–But he is 0-4 with a 5.40 against the Rangers. Yeah, I’d say they pretty much OWN him)takes the mound, opposed by Wandy Rodriguez. 1st pitch 7:10pm
