Red Sox 1, Tampa Bay 5:
Well, THIS has the Air of the Familiar…

Posted by Christine E. at 7:38 pm in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox Comment (1)

What is that now? 32? 34 losses in a row? It feels like they haven’t won in forever, even tho it’s only the last 4 in a row—although they have lost the last 7 of 10–and are, once again, DEAD LAST in the AL East…with a 12-14 record–Holy Hell, haven’t we played this riff already????

And…Once again, That Clay person was a hot mess (in more ways than one), giving up 5 runs on 9 hits in 6 1/3 innings worth of work. With a 1-4 record and a 6.03 ERA, not to mention SEVEN previous years of CRAP–doesn’t he have enough of a body of work for the Sox to trade him? Somewhere? I am sure they could use an extra bag of balls–and maybe some gum or something….

Here is the rest of his line: 107 pitches, 67 for strikes, one homer, 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. And he hasn’t won a game since Opening Day.

Although, there is plenty of suckage to go around for the Red Sox rotation. Over the weekend, when they were fracking SWEPT by the Skanks, nothing was working. And I don’t even want to TALK about the fact that A-Fraud had a moment of “glory” at Fenway.

Although after being suspended FOR A YEAR because of his drug use, forgive me if I am less than impressed…

Then there is the whole “Hanley Ramirez runs into a wall and spraining his shoulder” during the 2nd inning of last night’s contest. He is currently day to day, and the Sox have some depth, but as one of the better bats right now, they reallyREALLY need him to be OK…

And it’s not like they can call up the $ 72.5 million dollar minor leaguer, Rusney Castillo, cause he’s stil recovering from HIS boogered up shoulder thing…

Then there is Shane Victorino, who they SAY will be back around the 11th. Uh huh. Believe that when I see it. Love the guy, and no one is disputing his value to the 2013 Team, but holy buckets it’s like he’s made of GLASS…

Coming up: Game 2 of the 3 against Tampa Bay. Rick Porcello takes the bump, opposed by Drew Smyly 1st pitch 7:10pm.

Holy Buckets, WHY is Wade Miley not pitching tonight? Miley vs Smyly. That MUST happen this season!

Remember the days when the Sox used to beat the snot out of the hapless Tampa Bay Devil Rays? I miss that… Hell, I miss winning…
