    Red Sox 6, Oreos 10:
    Waiting for the shoe…

Posted by Christine E. at 5:55 pm in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox No Comments

    Wait for it…

    And…There it is…

Out with a whimper, not even a final death throe…

What am I talking about, you might ask? Well, with today’s loss, the Sox are
“officially”out of postseason contention. Their “magic number” for a
Wild Card Berth was at 1 after last night’s loss. And they checked out in the AL East a long time ago.

So now their record is 63-83, which means there is no way they can get to .500 for the season. At the rate they are going, they are looking at winning 70 games this season.

70 games. And last year they won a World Series…Holy Hell…

And the Sox are STILL dithering on whether or not to shut down Dustin Pedroia, whose wrist and hand are all fragged up, which is probably why he has under performed in 2014. Shut the guy down, get him the fracking surgery he needs NOW, so he has plenty of time to rehab and strength training and whatever else he needs to do to be 100% on Opening Day…STOP IT with the nonsense, John Farrell: “I wouldn’t rule that out. But it’s too premature to make a final decision on that.”

Uh, WHY? There is no tactical advantage to keeping him in the lineup, or keeping his injury a secret…STOP…Let one of the kids play, cause everyone knows that Dustin Pedroia is the heart and soul of this Red Sox ballclub. They need him healthy and contributing…

And speaking of Opening Day. The Sox will play their first contest on April 6th–A full week later than the start of the 2014 campaign. And they are playing 3 in Philly. Which means not only can’t I watch them (cause I live 2 hours from Philadelphia, and I’ll be blacked out), but there is NO DH, and I fracking hate the Phillies..Blech..

And the Blechy-ness continues, as they go to the other place that’s blacked out, and face the Skanks for the first 3 of 19 go arounds with THEM…

First game at the Fens: April 13th, against the Nationals, but at least they can use the DH..But Holy Hell, ENOUGH ALREADY wit the interleague play. If you simply MUST. Pick 2-3 weeks and just get them done already…this all season long crap is exactly that..CRAP…

In a interesting twist, the Sox finish their season with 3 games in CLEVELAND…But honestly, who does these schedules???

So there are 16 games left..and then 37 months until Opening day…Ben reallyREALLY better do some good work in the offseason, cause this crazy ass swing the Sox have been on for a bunch of years is getting VERY old…

But now we can turn out attention to rooting for everything who is playing the Skanks to beat the snot out of them, as THEIR magic number to miss the postseason is 8 for the AL East, and 14 for the Wild Card… Them not making the postseason will ease the pain a bit, and it will esp make the entitled Skankee fans even more pissed, as I think they expected to get an automatic pass, since Jeter is retiring an all..

And all THAT nonsense from this year I. Will. Not. Miss…not even remotely…
