    Red Sox 2, Seattle 8:
    And the Suckage Continues…

Posted by Christine E. at 7:14 pm in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox No Comments

I like Jake Peavey, but holy hell the guy needs to go. He has a 1-6 record for the 2014 campaign, and gave up a season high SEVEN runs in last night’s debacle–and WHY he was left in THAT long completely escapes me…

His line: 5IP, giving up 7 runs on 8 hits (including TWO homers) while walking 2 and striking out 3. He threw 85 pitches, 53 for strikes…

So another day where the Sox make a mediocre pitcher look like he’s freaking Pedro, can’t capitalize on the SIX walks that we given up by Seattle pitching, and were scoreless after the 2 runs in the 5th inning…But it was interesting to note that Felix Doubront came out of hte bullpen last night. Looks like the Sox may have made the decision to go back to Brandon Workman, now that he is off his suspension for NOT hitting Eva (n) Longoria… Doubront threw 2 perfect frames with a strikeout…

But of course, Edward Mujica has to give up another run in HIS inning of work–even if he had 2 strikeouts…

And because it can only happen this way, GUESS who is going to be on the bump in the middle of the night tonight, to top off this 7 game Left Coast swing, where the Sox are currently 1-5?

    Clay Buchholz.

Honestly, we can’t make this crap up. Mr. “I’m all better now, I just need to make 3-5 starts in the bigs to get my sh*t together. 7 starts, TOPS” (Note: He really didn’t say that, I’m just being snarky) so now the Titanic…er…the RED SOX will turn to our beloved head case to save the day.

    Outstanding.

Here is an interesting piece of trivia. Despite the fact that the World Series is over 4 months away and there is a lot of baseball still to be played, a lot of people who bet on the sport will actually bet now to get better payout odds. If you’re into that, you can check out the online betting sites at SportsBettingPal.com to choose a sportsbook…

WTF is wrong with Xander Bogaerts? A slump of epic proportions (6-56) or a .107 BA. Blech to the nth degree…

Although be fair, the offense as a whole is MIA these days

So Shane Victorino is back to playing, but has nothing to show for it, going 0-3 for Single A Lowell on Monday, and 0-4 in Pawtucket on Tuesday. While I would love to see him patrolling right field again, if he can’t do better than that in the minors, what help can he be? We already have enough O-Fer offense here, thankyouverymuch…

Coming up: It fracking PAINS me to say it, but That Clay Person and his 7.02 ERA takes the mount tonight in the final game of this series, and of the Left Coast extension of our program. He is opposed by Hisashi Iwakuma. First pitch: 10:10pm. Well, at least I’ll be asleep for most of it…
