    Red Sox 4, Toronto 6:
    And that would be #6…

Posted by Christine E. at 3:17 pm in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox Comment (1)

Last year, the Sox never lost more than 3 in a row. This year, it appears they are trying to go in another direction–never WINNING more than 3 in a row. And, apparently THAT isn’t even enough, cause right now it feels like they are never going to win AGAIN…

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am having flashback to 2012–without the crappy attitude…

And what the FRACK is going on with that Clay Person? Needs to work up his shoulder strength MY ASS. Another outing where he sucked OUT LOUD in about 14 different colors. There is SOMETHING wrong with him.

His line: 4.2 IP, throwing 90 pitches, 53 for strikes, giving up 5 runs (4 earned) on 9 hits (including 2 homers) while walking 2 and striking out 2. Which means he ends up with his FOURTH loss of the season, and a 6.32 ERA…Holy Hell…

I don’t know if its physical, or he has lost his mind, or WHAT. And throwing him out there every 5 days is NOT gonna solve it. Skip a turn or 3 and bring up one of the kids from Pawtucket, who couldn’t possible do any worse.

Something needs to shake this team up. And while I am happy the Sox resigned Stephen Drew to a 1-year $10 million deal (he should have taken the $14 million he was offered in the offseason–he can thank Satan for completely misreading THAT…), he is NOT the answer to the Sox woes.

So, since there is really nothing worth writing about that isn’t whiny and bitchy (I could do 10,000 words on that standing on my head…), let’s talk about something fun. Like the Fictitious Athlete Hall of Fame (FAHF).

What is the Fictitious Athlete Hall of Fame? Glad you asked! FAHF is the sister site of Notinhalloffame.com, which has annually ranked those not in the major sports and music Halls of Fame in North America since 2009.

So, Last November, the FAHF announced Rocky Balboa as their inaugural inductee. The Class of 2014 Semi-Finalists has been announced, which were the result of online voting. 50 Athletes and 30 Contributors have advanced to the next round, where voting is permitted until August 15th of this year. You can see the whole list here…

When voting is completed on August 15, the top 10 Fictitious Athletes and top 7 Fictitious Contributors will advance to the Finals. Voting will then begin again, and the three Athletes and the one Contributor with the most votes will become the Class of 2014 and join Rocky Balboa into the Fictitious Athlete Hall of Fame.

Want to go and vote? Go here for athletes and here for contributors!

Finally, Jamie from Picollecta sent this along, and it its WAY cool: 10 Most Expensive Pieces of Babe Ruth Memorabilia to be Sold at Auction. $650K for a watch! Wow! You can see the whole list here

Coming up: The final game of 3 against Toronto, in which I hope they can salvage at least ONE win. I fully expect Jon Lester to do his part, as he has been all season, but I also full expect the bats to be asleep, especially when facing Mark Buerle, who is having a GREAT year (7-1, with a 2.12 ERA). We’ll see–It IS baseball, anything can happen… 1st pitch: 4:05pm…

Then, it’s off to Tampa Bay for 3. They may actually have a shot of winning some of those contests, as the Rays are inexplicably sucking worse than the Sox (didn’t even think that was possible…)
