    Red Sox 1, Toronto 7:
Can the Sox Please Stop it Right Now???

    Holy Buckets…Holy Hell…W…T…F…

While I am glad RA Dickey did well yesterday, as I think he is one of the classiest guys in baseball, did he really have to be THAT good against the Sox?

And it’s not that Jon Lester was BAD, he certainly kept the Sox in the game, going 7 innings giving up 4 runs on 5 hits (including a homer) while walking none and striking out 7. He threw a lot of pitches tho: 122, and 80 for strikes. But Sox offense was ASLEEP again yesterday. Or, they used of their weekend quota of runs in Friday and Saturday’s wins…It seems that the role of Tim Wakefield (quality starts with no run support) will be played by Jon Lester this year. Not a good thing, especially in his walk year, because the Sox are already low-balling him and this is the justification they need to continue to do so, which is gonna piss off the big cranky Texan, and the Sox are gonna be without their ace after this year…

    Ok, I am catastrophizing…But you know what I mean…

And I won’t even go into my whole “I fracking HATE it when a pitcher gives up inherited runs and not penalized for that in any way.” tirade, even tho the latest violator of this was Badenhop, who was entrusted with 2 runners on base from Andrew Miller, and allowed both to score. Fracking HATE THAT…

But the Bad News Bears was on the MLB Channel yesterday, and I have always had a thing for Jackie Earle Haley, so that was fun seeing him as a young kid in his role as Kelly Leak. But please don’t think I don’t see the parallels between Buttermaker’s team and the Sox desperate need to suck less these days…Blech.

Maybe they need an Amanda Whurlitzer…

So they are now 3.5 GB the Skanks in the AL East, in 4th place, and are 2 games under .500. Yes, the less suckage thing needs to commence immediately.

Coming up: The Sox have a day off today, and then play 8 in the Fens, where they DESPRATELY need to get their groove back… John Lackey, fresh off his ace-like performance in the ONLY game the Sox won against the Skanks last week, takes the bump in the opening contest against the only team worse than the Sox in the AL East right now: The Tampa Bay Rays. He is opposed by Eric Bedard. 1st pitch 7:10pm…
