    Red Sox 7, Oreos 6 :
    97 Wins…

Some random thoughts as we wait FOUR DAYS for Red Sox Baseball…

As you know, all I wanted for the 2013 Campaign was a team that was once again fun to watch, who weren’t a bunch of cranky, overpaid babies, and would win 83 games…

And we all got that–IN SPADES…97 Wins, a team that reminds me OH SO much of the idiots of 2004, and no guys who are making excuses…

Yes, its a very good year to be a Red Sox fan–from the worst team in the AL (and hovering near the bottom with the rest of MLB), to division winner–And, oh, and did I mention the BEST RECORD IN AL??

So today, Tampa Bay and Texas will play 1 sudden death, winner-takes-all playoff game. Whomever wins that, will play Cleveland, who placed first in the Wild Card standings for the AL. Then, whomever wins THAT contest, will kick off the ALDS on Friday evening against, you guessed it: The Boston Red Sox.

And as far as who I would like to see face the Sox on Friday? No question–The Cleveland Indians. First and foremost, they are my Dad’s team, and I want them to do well–at least until they get to Boston (Sorry Dad!) And then there is the whole Terry Francona component. I love Tito–and I am thrilled he has turned this team into a force to be reckoned with. But again, they can’t be beating the Sox…

As far as Tampa Bay or Texas? I WANT it to be Tampa Bay. The Sox can beat Tampa Bay, and did this year–A LOT–going 12-7 against them in 2013. But Texas? Not so Much, as they has a 2-6 record against that ballclub.

Oh, and in case you were wondering? The Sox were 6-1 against Cleveland…

But I have to say that I am very disappointed in the attitude of Felix Doubront. He came to Spring Training OUT OF SHAPE, and was behind schedule. He pitched well for most of the season, compiling a 11-6 record with a 3.87 ERA in 27 starts. And now, apparently has told Red Sox Management that he doesn’t want to pitch out of the bullpen for the postseason. Uh..WHAT? Your team has the potential to WIN IT ALL, and your gonna pull a Diva and tell them that unless you get to do what you want (which is start), you’re not interested?Hey, I get you’re confident, but the Sox need 4 starters–and they got 4 of the best: Jon Lester, That Clay Person, John Lackey and Jake Peavy. Which one of these guys, exactly, should sit, so YOU can start?  Sit your ass down, Felix, and let someone who wants to be on the postseason roster, be there…Hate that crap…

Coming up: No Red Sox baseball until FRDIAY, but tonight is the Thunderdome for Tampa Bay and Texas, at the Ballpark in Arlington. David Price for the Rays, and Martin Perez for Texas. Fist pitch: 8:07pm.

But I do have one question. Who the hell is Martin Perez? HOW Is Yu Darvish not starting this game?
