    Red Sox 3, Oreos 5, in 12:
Can We Just Cut to the Chase, Please?

    Holy…Hell…

Why oh WHY can’t the best team in baseball beat this fracking team???  I know they are in WC contention, (currently in 4th place, 1/2 GB Cleveland, and 1 GB Texas) but they beat the Sox pretty much on a regular basis, and have all year (The Oreos lead the season series 9-6, with 4 games to play…)

And while my friend Steve has his heart set on the 100-win season, they need to win 8 out of their next 9–which just isn’t going to happen, especially not with 3 MORE games against the fracking cookies…

BUT, please don’t think this is me panicking…this team is STILL the best in the bigs, and with a Magic # of 1 to clinch a postseason berth, and a Magic# of 3 for the AL East…They are going to The Dance.  COUNT ON IT…

And Jake Peavy was fine last night: 7 strong innings, throwing 113 pitches, 75 for strikes, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits while walking 1, hitting a batter, having a balk and striking out 8.  Problem was Wei-Yin Chen was good enough to limit the Sox to 3 runs, despite the fact that 2 of them were homers by Mike Napoli and David Ortiz.

But Franklin Morales blinked in the 12th, giving up a 2-run single to home run king Chris Davis (who hit his 51st Monday night in the Fens).  And that…as they say…is that…

Jacoby Ellsbury finally came out of the cone of silence yesterday, and was “made available” to the press, where he stated he fully expects to be back before hte season ends–sort of. It’s seemed like he said a whole bunch–but really didn’t say anything at all.  You can read the transcript here and judge for yourself.

But you KNOW that Satan is gnashing his teeth, somewhere, because if Jake ends up lame and can’t play–that 10-year $300 million free agent deal you KNOW he is going to ask for–is never going to happen–NEV-A EV-A…

Finally, our friends at eTrueSports have ONCE AGAIN found the inside scoop–and this time it’s the Wild Card contender, the Tampa Bay Rays.  After attracting a measly 10,000 fans Monday to a crucial game against the Texas Rangers, the embarrassed Tampa Bay Rays announced that this Friday will be iPhone 5 Night, with the first 18,000 fans receiving Apple’s latest smartphone free. “We believe a crowd of 20,000 is a real possibility,” said Tampa Bay Rays’ owner Stuart Sternberg. You can read all about it here

Coming up:  I wish I could say they Sox were playing their last game against the Oreos for the 2013 campaign tonight–but unfortunately, we are stuck with the fracking team until the bitter end, with the final 3 being played next weekend–IN Baltimore. I just hope they don’t have to play them in the postseason…John Lackey takes the bump, opposed by Chris Tillman.  1st pitch 7:10pm.

So, guys, could you fracking win and actually get YOURSELF clinched, without having to wait for someone else to clinch you?  That would be GREAT…
