    Red Sox 6, Skanks 9:
    No one to blame…

    …But fracking Ryan Dempster…

Holy Hell, I feel like doing this whole FRACKING post in ALL CAPS, because all of the crap I am seeing out there is makin’ me CRANKY. So be warned…

Hey, Ryan, I totally get the need to hit A-Fraud–Hell, I am surprised that in the week he has been back, no one has done it before. He’s has a target on his back for nearly a week.

HOWEVER, if you don’t have the goods to shut the team down after you hit one of their players (even one as vilified as A-Rod), you need to NOT do it–or certainly NOT do it in the 2nd inning, when you are barely hanging onto a lead…

And not only did hitting A-Rod help contribute to tying the score at 2–the subsequent solo shot he hit off Dempster as part of a 4 RUN 6th inning, sealed the deal for the Sox.

Fellow BBA‘er, Sully from Sully Baseball sums this whole debacle up perfectly. Check it out…

Dempster’s abysmal line (not that THAT is anything new…he is, after all 6-9 with a .477 ERA): 5 1/3 innings, giving up 7 runs on 9 hits (including the homer to A-Fraud) while striking out 3, the hit batter, walking one. Of course, to be fair, Drake Britton (with his 2nd blown save in 12 appearances) was responsible for letting every one of his 3 inherited runners score. The recently struggling Junichi Tazawa was the only one who didn’t give up a run last night….

And can I just tell you oh how SICK AND TIRED I am talking about Alex Rodriguez? Yuk, that’s it, stick a fork in me, I am done. No more A-Fraud…

So, That Clay Person threw a bullpen session over the weekend, and will throw in a simulated game sometime this week, most likely at Pawtucket. So, if all goes well, that would set him up to start his rehab assignment, although there is talk about ANOTHER simulated game. John Farrell has this to say: “He’s confident that he’s making steady progress.” HOLY CRAP! What the hell does THAT mean? Could we BE anymore vague???

But, it looks like David Ross will be activated tonight for the Giant’s series, THANK GOD. I love Jarrod Saltalamacchia, but watching him try to throw out runners is freaking painful, mainly because 83% of the time, HE DOESN’T (17 out of 91 tries). Ryan Lavarnway is back down to Pawtucket to open the spot on the 25–man for Ross…

Oh, and since Mike Napoli is hobbled with a foot issue, and 6 games against NL teams, look for David Ortiz to be playing more 1st base, although starting Mike Carp or Daniel Nave, or even using Will Middlebrooks as a later inning defensive replacement is not out of the realm of possibility…

And in a very cool move, Red Sox phenom Xander Bogaerts has been called up to The Show for the first time, and will appear in a Red Sox uniform for tonight’s contest. Splitting his time between AA Portland and AAA Pawtucket this season, the 20-year old is hitting .297 with 15 homers and 67 RBI’s, with an OPS of .865. I cannot WAIT to see him play–and this team needs a boost–NOW. Brock Holt is being sent back to Pawtucket to open up the roster spot…

Coming up: ON the heels of their THIRD losing series, the Sox get a week of Left Coast, middle of the night games. Ducky. Jon Lester, who really needs to step up and be the ace and the stopper, takes the mound in game 1, opposed by Tim Lincecum. Oh, and look for old friend Marco Scutaro to be back in the lineup after being out over the weekend with lower back tightness–and I fully expect him to torture the Sox–cause that’s what all the former players seem to do..1st pitch: 10:15pm…
