Less than 2 weeks to go before the 12th annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon kicks off. As always, taking place at Fenway Park, The Radio-Telethon will be held this year on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 27 and 28, from 6 am to midnight.
Since 2002, the emotional two-day event has become one of the Jimmy Fund’s biggest annual fundraisers, raising more than $31 million for pediatric and adult patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
Broadcasting live from Fenway Park on WEEI 93.7 FM Sports Radio and NESN, the 36-hour Radio-Telethon features compelling patient stories, interviews with Dana-Farber researchers, doctors and staff, and calls and visits from celebrity guests and members of the Boston Red Sox.
This year’s Radio-Telethon, will be held during the Red Sox/Orioles Series, with each game beginning 7:10 pm. As part of the event, Dana-Farber pediatric and adult patients will be attending these contests.
