    September 11, 2012:
Going Way Beyond a Total Cluster…

Posted by Christine E. at 11:42 am in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox No Comments

Last week I mentioned that they Sox were kicking off a 3-game series against the only team in the AL East that were worse than them: Toronto. I also said, give them time, and that will probably change.

And, oh, did it change. After being SWEPT by the Blue Jays, the Sox are now DEAD LAST in the AL East, 16.5 games behind the Skanks (who are hanging on to their lead, with the Oreos breathing own their neck) and are 15, yes, FIFTEEN games below .500, have lost 11 of their last 12, and have an E# of 6…

Oh, and I guess I should mention that they are on pace to have a 90 loss season. Remember when they used to WIN 93 games? Last time they were this bad was 1966–yeah…

    Holy Buckets…

I never wish injury on anyone. I truly don’t, but when it’s a player I actively dislike, and he injures himself on a truly bone headed move, it does fill me with a bit of glee–especially the way this season is going. Mark Toxemia thought it would be a good idea to SLIDE into 1st base. Ironically, he was safe, despite the fact that he was called out by the ump, but strained his left calf and will be out for 10-14 days while it heals–which means he is out for this week’s Skankee series. I suppose if I was watching, that would be great…

More from the schadenfreude department: All those players we sent to the Dodgers aren’t helping them either, as they are 6-9 since the blockbuster deal. Nice to know the suckage wasn’t just here. Some stats: Beckett: 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA, Gonzalez: .226 in his last 13 games in a Dodger Uniform. The homer he hit in his first game with his new ballclub? ONLY one so far… Ha Ha Ha Ha

And how about THIS bullsh*t: NOW the Sox have decided that they are going to play spoiler for the last 3 weeks of the season–and there has even been speculation that this will energize and “inspire” the ball club. Really? Fricken REALLY? Oh, I don’t know, I would have thought WINNING ALL SEASON might have been inspiring. But, I guess being SPOILERS is more so. Holy. Hell.

Speaking of, the Sox are FINALLY ready to stop giving the ball to Daisuke. MAYBE. I know it doesn’t matter anymore, but THAT suckage needs to stop–and if anyone thinks resigning him is a good idea, you freaking nuts. I wouldn’t resign him for a bag of balls…

Now, if we could find someone, ANYONE, to replace Aaron Cook and his 3-9 record, 5.17 that would be SUPER…

Coming up: Jon Lester, who has been pitching better as of late, kicks off the 3 games against the Skanks, opposed by the pitcher the Sox SHOULD have picked up in the offseason, Hiroki Kuroda. 1st pitch: 7:10 pm.
