Maine Day at Fenway Slated for August 26th…
L.L.Bean and the Bootmobile Take the Field as Fenway Park Celebrates Maine Day on August 26th
This Sunday, August 26th the Boston Red Sox will recognize fans from the “Pine Tree State” as they host their annual Maine Day celebration at Fenway Park. Game time is 1:35pm.
Sponsored by L.L.Bean, the outdoor retailer and Fenway Park have teamed up to celebrate a century of America’s favorite outdoor pastime, and to celebrate their collective 100th anniversaries in 2012.
To enhance the celebration, special happenings both inside the park and outside on Yawkey Way will include:
- The “Boot Cube” located in Wally’s World featuring activities that demonstrate how much fun families can have in the outdoors and a chance to win special prizes.
- The L.L.Bean Bootmobile, a 13-foot-high, larger-than-life version of the outdoor retailer’s most iconic product.
Fans that Tweet @LLBean with #MaineDay during the Red Sox game on August 26th will also have the chance to win one of the sold-out, limited edition Fenway Park Boat & Totes from L.L.Bean.
This limited edition tote, created in celebration of L.L.Bean and Fenway Park’s 100th anniversaries, is made from the rain delay tarp used to protect the Fenway Park infield from the elements during the 2010 and 2011 baseball seasons. Only 2,012 totes were produced and each is individually numbered.
