    July 29, 2012:
    Red Sox and Baseball Swag

Ross ShirtSo a friend of mine was in Boston last week, and no trip to the Holy Land is complete without a visit to the Red Sox Team store across from Fenway Park. So here is the newest swag in the never ending quest…

While I am still on the fence about what jersey I will get–Mike Lowell is a pretty tough act to follow, after all, and I don’t want to spend all that money on a jersey for a guy who may only play a year with the Sox, no matter how much I am actively liking/loving him. And I am glad I didn’t go with the front runner, Jon Lester, because, despite the fact he pitched much better in last night’s desperately needed week against the Skanks, his season has been “Meh”–and I don’t want to wear a jersey of someone who is just “Meh”…Mag

So, that really long run on sentence is just to pretty much explain that I got a Cody Ross T-shirt, rather than spring for the full-on jersey…

And, of course, what season would be complete without the Red Sox Yearbook, although it was sad to see Youk and Darnell’s pages. And, as the 100 year anniversary book, its filled with players from the last century.

But I have to question something: In the book, the ownership talks abut ” five fundamental obligations of ownership to Red Sox fans everywhere”. This is #1: “Field a team worthy of the fan’s support” OK, so far that really hasn’t happened in 2012–and it doesn’t look like Ben is going to make any moves prior to Tuesday, so are we just to consider 2012 a mulligan–and be OK with that?  So, what if I’m not?

    Baby Hat

And to get her started on the right track, a Red Sox hat for my favorite little girl–goes great with the Red Sox onesies, and just in time for the series thisBaseball Rose weekend..

I have also been eyeing up these amazing baseball roses for quite some time, and last week, they had an great sale, and I could not resist–the picture does not do them justice–they are really beautiful, and the perfect gift for that baseball lady in your life…

So, not a bad weekend for baseball/Red Sox Swag…Now if the Sox could actually take the series from the Skanks…
