With 4 days of non-MLB baseball looming—yeah, I know, there is the Home Run Derby, and the All-Star game–but that’s not “real” baseball. So when you need to, it’s good to have some other stuff to go to… And what better entertainment is there than to take a closer look at the young ‘uns–the players that will hopefully, someday, make it to the Bigs, and put on the Red Sox uniform.
All next week, Comcast SportsNet will take a look at the next generation of Sox players with 5 days of special programming from the Red Sox minor league system.
Called Down on the Farm, this tour of the Red Sox’ minor league affiliates from low-A to AAA, offers a glimpse into the system that produced Red Sox stars Jacoby Ellsbury, Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz. The nightly features will reveal the unique challenges of being a minor league baseball player as well as profile the Red Sox most dynamic prospects including Anthony Ranaudo and Bryce Brentz.
The features will be broadcast each night at 6:00pm, 10:30pm and 1:00am on Chevrolet SportsNet Central and anytime on CSNNE.com.
Beginning Monday, July 11, Chevrolet SportsNet Central’s Jessica Moran and Comcast SportsNet will start with a live report from the Lowell Spinners’ LeLacheur Park. As the week progresses, Moran will file live reports in Portland, ME and Pawtucket, RI and Comcast SportsNet will visit the Salem Red Sox in Salem, VA and Greenville Drive in Greenville, SC.
The full Down on the Farm schedule is as follows:
On Monday, July 11, Jessica Moran will be live from LeLacheur Field, reporting on Single A Lowell Spinners.
On Tuesday, July 12, Comcast SportsNet will report on Single A Greenville Drive.
