The 10th Annual Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon will take place at Fenway Park beginning Tuesday, August 30th and running from 6:00am to midnight through Wednesday, August 31st, 2011. The 2-day event, broadcast on WEEI and NESN, will feature compelling patient stories and celebrity guests, as well as emotional ceremonies prior to both Red Sox games during the two day period.
In honor of its 10th year, The Telethon will focus on the progress that has been made in cancer research over the past decade. Since its inception in 2002, the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon has raised nearly $26 million dollars, with over $3.1 million dollars raised in 2009. With gifts coming in from every state in the country, the radio-telethon continues to be the Jimmy Fund’s fastest growing event.
And, donations are already well underway for 2011, thanks to the 4th Annual “Tame the Tigers” golf tournament, held last month on May 19th at The International in Bolton, MA. The sell-out event was the most successful to date, raising over $100,000 for The Jimmy Fund.
