Not able to attend the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic this year? You can still catch all the highlights in a special Red Sox Report on NESN, airing tomorrow, Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 6:30 pm

Produced by Emmy award-winning Red Sox Productions, the show is hosted by David Ortiz, as well as the event’s MC’s: MLB Network commentator (and former Red Sox first baseman) Sean Casey and actor/comedian Mike O’Malley.

The show begins with one-of-a-kind footage of David Ortiz visiting Robert Reid Hospital in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where The David Ortiz Children’s Fund is launching a program to ensure nurses receive the education and equipment they need. During the visit, David met with nurses who will benefit from the program, including one nurse who cared for David when he was a child. The nurses program was inspired by David’s aunt Esperanza who is a retired nurse from Robert Reid Hospital.

Also included are all the weekend’s activities, including the welcome reception, pairings party, golf tournament and awards gala, as well as exclusive interviews from a host of celebrity guests including Red Sox teammates, current and former Major League baseball stars, actors, comedians, and sports legends.

Some of the attendees of this year’s David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic included: Red Sox Players Daniel Bard, Dustin Pedroia, Adrian Beltre, Darnell McDonald, Jed Lowrie, and Tim Wakefield; current MLB Players including Andre Ethier, Erick Aybar, Hanley Ramirez, Placido Polanco, Ubaldo Jimenez , Adam Jones and Pedro Martinez; and former MLB players and legends Luis Tiant, Jim Rice, George Bell, and Moises Alou. Also in attendance were legendary Boston Celtics player Bill Russell, actor Sam Page, comedians Rachel Dratch and Horatio Sanz, and Dr. Peter Slavin, president of Massachusetts General Hospital.

Can’t catch tomorrow night’s Red Sox Report? You’ll have plenty of chances, as the show, presented by CVS/Pharmacy, will be rebroadcast on December 21 at 9:30 p.m.; December 22 at 12:30 and 5:30 p.m.; January 4 at 5:30, 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. and January 5 at 4:30 and 10:30 pm.

About the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic: In its 3rd year, the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic, benefiting The David Ortiz Children’s Fund (DOCF) was held December 2-5, 2010 at Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic, one of the most spectacular resort communities in the world. Guests stayed at the five-star luxury resort Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana, overlooking the turquoise waters and pristine beaches of the Caribbean Sea. The golf tournament itself took place at Punta Espada, a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course.

The David Ortiz Children’s Fund is committed to helping children in New England and the Dominican Republic that do not have access to the critical pediatric services they need. Partnering with Massachusetts General Hospital and with International Hospital for Children, these organizations are committed to healing as many children as possible by providing critical pediatric healthcare in both New England and the Dominican Republic. I took the Hurst review course too and loved it! It helped me so much on my exam! I found I was nervous too, but when I left the building, I knew I passed it with flying colors (scored 75). You’ll do great! 🙂
