    Red Sox 1, Cleveland 9:
    7…Unearned…Runs…

Coming right on the heels of the best game of the season, comes the absolute worst…

If the Sox were a drug addict–I would say last night was…ROCK…BOTTOM…. and it was shameful…

3 errors, one of which cause 2 of the 4 runs Jon Lester allowed to be unearned, and then there was the 7th inning–2 errors caused ALL FIVE RUNS scored in the inning to be unearned–although I am not sure whose brilliant idea it was to keep Scott Atchinson in as the game spiraled completely out of control…YUK…

Speaking of Yuk, WHAT is going on with Jon Lester? This is the FOURTH loss in a row for him–a pitcher who has never even had three losses in a row–in his whole career…and he looked AWFUL–he was all red and sweaty, and looked like he was laboring the whole time–and apparently he was having leg cramps a good portion of the night…. His line looked pretty awful as well: 5+ innings, throwing 98 pitches, 55 for strikes, giving up the 4 runs on 7 hits (including a solo to Jason Nix) while walking 2 and striking out 4…

Of course, none of this mattered, as Justin Masterson, for the 2nd time this year, did his best Ace of the Staff impersonation and held the Sox to 1 run (he is 2-0 with ERA of 0.64–yes, as in 64 cents–against the Sox) in his 5+ innings of work–and Cleveland’s bullpen continued the trend, not allowing anything more than that…

So Jacoby Ellsbury is back, 71 days later–and promptly went 0-5….Of course he needed to mention that “every time I move my arm” he still feels it–but apparently, he has been told he cannot damage it any further…Daniel Nava was sent back to Pawtucket to make room for Jake…

I am trying not to freak out that the Sox have placed Mike Lowell on waivers–and I know just about everyone is placed this time of year (each team can place 7 each day) and that the Sox can pull him back at any time, and now that its official that Youk is done, and having his surgery tomorrow, the Sox are going to need him, but I am still mildly freaking out…

Coming up: Trying to salvage at least a split of this 4 games series, so there is SOME good vibes when they face the Skanks for 4 this weekend–Daisuke takes the mound, opposed by Josh Tomlin for Cleveland. 1st pitch: 7:10pm…
