Red Sox 3, Oreos 4, In 11 Innings:
    And that would be 1-7…

Posted by Christine E. at 6:59 pm in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox No Comments

Out of the 7 extra inning games the Red Sox have played, they have won ONE of them…it’s getting to the point that if it’s an extra inning game, no matter if it’s at home or away, is pretty much an automatic loss–which isn’t good…

And what is worse is the fact that the Sox have been unable to sweep the Oreos in 2010–and as a matter of fact, the Cookies have swept the SOX

THIS IS THE WORSE TEAM IN BASEBALL, FOLKS…

While John Lackey did well in this outing, going 7 strong and only giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2, he walked 3 and had to throw 124 pitches for that 7 innings of work. No matter what the outcome, it feels to me, when Lackey is pitching, that he is gritting through it, that it’s a major struggle…

And MDC was doing so well for a while–and now, all of a sudden, is giving up runs again., Citing an “old man back” that has been bothering him for a couple week, he gave up another yesterday in 1/3 inning of work, and also walked 2….If your injured, then you shouldn’t be playing…

Mike Cameron was in the lineup again yesterday, after missing another week with his lower abdominal strain issues. He went 1-3 with 2 walks. The limited amount of time he has played, he has done very well–kinda makes you wonder where this team would be if Mike Cameron had played more than 14 games this season…

And Jeremy Hermida was out again yesterday, after HIS collision between him and Beltre on Friday night–what IS it with this guy? Note to Adrian: Please stay away from all the other players on the field–we need them…Fortunately, Hermida was available if needed yesterday, and will probably be playing tonight… Mike Cameron has already weighed in on Beltre seeming to injure the left fielders: “I told him that I will never run into him. The ball either will drop or I’ll punch him or trip him and I’ll pick it back up and throw it back in. They’ve carried me off the field one time. I said that would be the last time they carried me off the field on a stretcher.” (He was involved in a horrible 2005 collision with Carlos Beltran–think Johnny Damon/Damian Jackson–but worse).

And tomorrow night, to a sold out crowd (the 1st time in a LONG time for the Nationals) phenom Stephen Strasburg will make his major league debut against the Pirates. 1st pitch is 7:05pm…

And today, in the first day of the draft, the Nationals signed another phenom: The highly touted 17-year old Bryce Harper as the 1st draft pick of the 2010 season. Currently a catcher, the word on the street is he will probably end up as an outfielder…

Unfortunately, he, like Strasburg, are boys of Satan, aka, Scott Boras…

Coming up: I need to find a way to make my Daisuke Daiquiris stay good between starts–just in case I have some left over, so I don’t have to waste them. He did pretty well last time, which means that he’ll probably give up 19 runs in the 3rd inning tonight, kicking off the 4 game series vs Cleveland at the Jake. He is opposed by Fausto Carmona for the Indians. 1st pitch 7:05pm….
