Since 1992, the Jimmy Fund has held the “Ultimate Fan Experience”, an event which allows Red Sox fans of all ages to enjoy baseball-related activities and entertainment at Fenway Park, including: contests, a kid zone, tours, photo opportunities, and a skill zone for those who want to showcase their baseball talents.

If you want to go: Tickets are $25 per person for folks 12 and over, $15 for children ages 3 to 11, with children under 3 getting in free. Want to make it a family affair? Packages for families are also available. The gates at Fenway will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 pm for the event. And if the weather does not cooperate, the Rain Date is Sunday, July 19, 2009, same time and place….

And, if you want to really get into it, there are fielding and batting packages, where you can actually play on the field (Act now, these types of things do NOT last long…) Prices for these opportunities begin at $50 per person with a fund raising minimum of $700, and go up to $200 per person, with a fund raising minimum of $1800.

Now, in its 18th year, caring fans taking part in Jimmy Fund Fantasy Day have raised nearly $6 million to support the fight against cancer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. To purchase tickets and for more information, go here

If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s a great cause, and a neat opportunity–wish I lived closer to Fenway…
