    Red Sox 2, Minnesota 4:
Don’t even need to ask the question here…

… I know what the hell is wrong with Daisuke…

Where shall we begin? hmmm…he nibbles far too much, throws too many pitches, “likes” to call his own game–and has four, count ‘em, FOUR wild pitches last night? In one game. Add in the one each from MDC and Justin Masterson, we have a record…although it’s not the kind of record anyone is proud of having. Poor George Kottaras–he really earned his paycheck last night….

All told, Daisuke’s line was typical Daisuke: 5 Inning, giving up 3 runs on 9 hits while walking 3, and striking out 6. He threw 102 pitches, 63 for strikes…and has a lovely 8.82 ERA to go with his equally lovely 0-3 record…

Anyone else think that maybe its time for a change? I know the Sox spent an incredible amount of money on him, but this just isn’t working anymore–$100 million for an 0-3 record? Really? I did think that once he got used to pitching it the bigs, and got comfortable, he would improve–he’d probably do much better in the NL…

And…Because the Skanks won last night (AJ Burnett won for the 1st time in 6 weeks–HA HA) the Sox and Skanks now share 1st place in the AL East…UGH…

And how bout THESE apples? Jason Bay is leading ALL of the AL outfielders in votes (446,183) to attend the All-Star Game…even beating out Josh Hamilton and Ichiro (2nd and 3rd respectively) Here is how the rest of the Sox shake out: Youk is #1 at 1st base. Dustin Pedroia is 2nd at 2nd, Mike Lowell is 5th at 3rd, Jason Varitek is 3rd at Catcher, and Jacoby Ellsbury and JD Drew (last years All-Star MVP) are 9th and 13th respectively…Since the game is being played in St Louis, which is NL territory, there is no DH–not that Big Papi is making any kind of case to go…

And, if you have not done so, you have until 11:59 on July 2nd to cast your ballot–25 votes per e-mail address, and it you do them all at the same time, it “remembers” your votes, so you don’t have to enter them all again… The starters will be announced on July 5th. The All Star Game (or “4 days of no meaningful baseball”, as I like to call it) will be held on Tuesday, July 14th…

Coming up: The final game of this 4 game series, and the chance for the Sox to at least salvage a split. Josh Beckett, who was gypped of a win on Saturday (Thanks a heap, Jonathan Papelbon), after pitching an excellent 8 innings of 1-run work, gets the nod for the contest. He is opposed by Anthony Swarzak, who made his 1st start in the bigs on Saturday, and was the 1st pitcher in Twins history to throw seven scoreless innings in his major league debut…freaking marvelous. 1st pitch: 1:10pm
