    Red Sox 7, Skankees 3:
And that would be 5 Little Red Dots…

Whoo hooo! Yeah, I know, they won’t always suck, and the Sox have 13 more games with them, blah blah blah. But for now, the Sox have a huge leg up on the Skanks–and the season series.

And the injuries seem to be piling up on both sides. Youk was out again last night with the nagging tightness in this left side, and Jacoby Ellsbury left last night’s game when his right hamstring grabbed on him. They are both listed as day to day. And then their is the Julio Lugo stuff–although I don’t think sucking as a baseball player is technically an injury…And Rocco Baldelli is still on the DL with HIS hamstring, although he may be back this weekend And I heard that Jorge Posada is on the DL, Also with a strained hamstring, so he is out of commission for a couple of weeks.

But Josh Beckett was good enough to win, although he did give up 10 hits, including the 3 run homer to Johnny Damon (who has been a thorn in the side of the Sox all year so far), which is the only scoring the Skanks did all night…He threw 108 pitches, 72 for strikes in his 6+ innings of work, striking out 5 and walking 1…But it was also the THIRD start in a row where he has given up 10 hits…not good…

Despite the fact he got the loss in this contest, Joba the Hutt struck out TWELVE in his 2 2/3 innings…TWELVE. This kid is going to be a force to contend with some day…

So now the Sox are done with the Skanks for about a month, when they host them for 3, starting on June 9th-more middle of the week games-weirdness.

Daisuke made his 1st rehab start with Pawtucket last night, going 2 2/3 innings, allowing only 2 hits. He also struck out 5, hit someone, and walked 2. He also threw 47 pitches, 29 for strikes. Sounds like vintage Daisuke to me…throws too many pitches….Looks like he’ll have at least 1 more rehab start before returning to the Sox’s rotation…

Interesting article on the new Skankee Stadium today in one of the blogs on Harvard Business Publishing. Yep, the same folks who give us the Harvard Business Review. Worth checking out, talks about the total lack of customer service at The Stadium, dissing the season tickets holders, and having ridiculous ticket prices, some 3 to 5 times the MLB average. You can read it here

Finally, from our friends at eTrueSports the total scoop on the Skanks latest promotion: Indigent Night. On May 21st, to anyone who shows proof of living below poverty level, the Skanks will provide a bleacher seat and a voucher for a free 12 oz soft drink! See? The Skanks really DO care about their fans! Read all about it…

Coming up: The Sox host Cleveland for another 2-game series, with Justin Masterson getting the start at the Fens. He is opposed by Carl Pavano (!!) for the tribe. Hopefully Jacoby and Youk will be well enough to play tonight…1st pitch 7:10pm…
