    Red Sox 8, Cleveland 9:
    How many more…

Games does Julio Lugo have to LOSE for the Boston Red Sox, before Tito gets rid of his sorry ass? How many? 10? 25? 50? He starts the season on the DL, and the Sox “manage” to go 13-6 while he is out, including a sweep of the Skanks, and winning 11 IN A ROW…

The FIRST DAY he plays, he cannot even manage to go ONE GAME without and error–and in the 3rd inning, Youk throws to him and he MISSES THE CATCH! A freaking Little Leaguer could have made that play! And then what happens? 3 run homer–and the 7-3 lead is GONE…

And what about in the 5th inning when he nearly ran Jacoby Ellsbury over (Jacoby had to slide to avoid running into him) trying to make a catch that was clearly the responsibility of the center fielder….

I dont care if he had a couple hits in the game (2 for 3 with a walk)–or that Mike Lowell had an error, as did Javier Lopez, which resulted in Cleveland scoring in the 9th. The 3 unearned runs as a result of his missed catch shifted the momentum and lost this game…

One bright spot–he has to leave the game with tightness in the knee he just got repaired in the 8th inning–so maybe we can get Nick Green in there again…How much longer until Jed Lowrie comes back?

And Bad Penny! Is certainly not blameless, with his horrible line and 8.66 ERA. He threw 89 pitches (46 for strikes) and could not even get out of the 3rd inning, giving up 7 runs on 7 hits (including the unearned 3 run homer) while striking out 1, walked 3, and had a wild pitch…So any rest the Sox bullpen had from Tim Wakefield’s gem the night before–GONE

HUGE Bright spot? That Jason Bay is playing for the Boston Red Sox instead of Manny Ramirez….Yeah, the amazing stats–in 4 games he has 2 homers, 8 RBI’s and is sitting on a .642 BA– is one thing–but the total and utter LACK OF DRAMA–a beautiful thing…

I have been a fan of Josh Hamilton’s for many years, since my friend (and fellow blogger) Ted D told me about him and his amazing comeback from drug addiction. Then, watching him at the Home Run Derby last year was just magical. And now I hear that he injured his ribcage running into a wall last week when the Rangers were playing Toronto. The pain is so bad he can barely breathe, and baseball activities are out of the question. Looks like a DL stint for Josh: “I probably need to rest it and let it heal. I’ve been battling through it the last four or five days. I tried it yesterday in batting practice and it didn’t feel right…I can’t do much of anything. I can’t work out, I can’t run, I can’t swing, I can’t throw…I’m going to do what I need to do to get it right.” Good luck and get better soon Josh!

Since, I have no time, I got “The Yankee Years” on audio book, so I can listen to it in the car…its pretty interesting so far…haven’t got to the A-Fraud bashing yet….

Coming up: The rubber match of the 3 game series against Cleveland. Jon Lester gets the nod, opposed by Fausto Carmona for the Indians, 1st pitch 7:05pm, and the last time the Sox face them at The Jake in 2009. They have 6 with them at Fenway, including the last 4 games of the season, October 1-4…
