Red Sox 5, Puerto Rico 9:
Just another loss in Spring Training…

Posted by Christine E. at 12:40 pm in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox Comments (2)

..And let me tell you, it’s making me none too happy…I know, they don’t MEAN anything. But I would feel better if they were winning and they didn’t mean anything…

I guess the “facet block with a little bit of cortisone” did the trick for JD Drew, as he is expected to be in today’s lineup against the Fish…And, apparently, this shot also helps prevent things from reoccurring down the road, as its supposed to move scar tissue out of the facet joint and reduce the inflammation. More from JD: “They say you can take them three or four times a year that is, if you need them. My thing was after talking to the training staff, figuring out if I did this one time, it would actually break the cycle of inflammation in those facet joints where they were kind of grinding on each other or bound up…”

Mike Lowell is coming along from his hip surgery, and is expected to see some game action as early as next week. He will start off slow, in the DH spot, as he running game is still a bit off–he describes it as “an imbalance between both hips. They tell me that’s normal, but it still doesn’t take away the frustration…” And right now, the DH spot which is pretty open while Big Papi is at the WBC–AND I just heard that they had him playing FIRST BASE…(and, yes, I am cringing as I typed that…)

Well, Manny Ramirez got his $45 million dollars from the Dodgers–and he doesn’t even want it in green Skittles and pennies…And for those of you who actually thought that Manny Ramirez gives a sh*t about anyone by himself: “Sometimes you’re better off to have a two-year deal in a place that you’re gonna be happy than have an eight-year deal in a place that you’re gonna, you know, suffer.” Yeah, wish someone would pay ME $160 million dollars to SUFFER…

So, A-Rod, who has a torn labrum in his hip (similar to what Mike Lowell had, basically) has opted not to have the surgery, and instead plans on playing through the pain, as the alternative is to have the surgery, and then be on the shelf for 4 months… Personally, I dont see this working. If Mike Lowell, who is FAR more a gamer than A-Fraud, cannot stand playing with a similar injury, there is NO WAY A-Fraud will…He’ll be crying for his mommy by May 1…

In a surprising move, Dave Roberts, base stealer extraordinaire, was released by the Giants this week–but it looks like they will still have to pay $6.5 million left on his contract…Hey, if the JD Drew “I’ll all better” thing doesn’t work out…

Coming up: Back to “real” spring training games, with a home contest again the Marlins this afternoon. Josh Beckett throws with 1st pitch at 1:05pm, with Okajima and Takashi Saito expected to make appearances…

The root of your writing whilst sounding reasonable in the beginning, did not work perfectly with me personally after some time. Someplace throughout the paragraphs you actually were able to make me a believer unfortunately only for a while. I however have got a problem with your leaps in assumptions and one might do nicely to help fill in all those gaps. In the event you can accomplish that, I would surely end up being amazed.
