    November 3, 2008:
298,710 days until the start of the Season…
    And Counting…

Posted by Christine E. at 9:00 pm in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox No Comments

Actually, its only 154 (154!!), but it FEELS like 298K and change…

And what makes it even worse is the fact that there is pretty much diddly to talk about.

Mark Kotsay and Paul Byrd filed for Free Agency…Whoo Hoo…

Scott Boras is Satan, and we are all sick of hearing about him–been done to death…

The Skanks are courting Manny, and once they realize “…(he) should be the highest-paid player in the game…(and) When you talk about his character, the totality of the circumstances will ring true.”, they will not hesitate to sign him for 34 skatillion dollars and a happy meal once a week–after all, since A-Fraud fired Satan’s sorry ass, he needs someone to bring in the big money…Ho Hum….

And when I read that quote from Boras, I swear I spit my corn flakes…

More random thoughts for the day after daylight’s savings time (which always screws me up for about a week…):

Despite the fact that Curt Schilling filed for free agency over the weekend, he writes on 38 Pitches yesterday: “I don’t have a job, I am likely retired…I am now a small business owner in a start up …” . The only way he would come back next year is if he could find a team that would let him pitch the 2nd 1/2 of next year…I really hope he decides to stay retired. I was his last game to be the 2007 World Series for the Red Sox…

So Jake Peavey wants to stay in the NL–smart choice, since I really think AL hitting would eat him for lunch…

The General Manager’s meeting began today, at the same resort that held the AIG 400K “team building”, with Theo arriving sometime this evening

So the big dogs that will be filing for arbitration for the Sox are Kevin Youkilis and Jonathan Papelbon–can Theo keep his record of never having an arbitration hearing since he has been GM of the Sox? Youkilis made $3 million last year, Papelbon, $775,000. And you can bet your ass they’ll be wanting HUGE money–like $8-10 million a year money….

Guess he is a Rocket fan: Apparently, the Federal judge who is deciding the fate of the lawsuit Fatboy Roger has filed against his former trainer Brain McNamee is “agonizing” over whether or not to throw the case out of court, or keep it in Texas. Clemens is suing McNamee for defamation of character after McNamee told the Mitchell investigation that Roger used steroids and HGH…

Wait a minute–I thought you could only sue for slander/defamation of character if the allegations were FALSE….

Over the weekend, I read one of the funniest things I have seen all season. I don’t know how he did it, But Chad Finn managed to get a spy into Tito’s private inner sanctum for his 2008 season exit interviews. Its not to be missed!
