    Red Sox 4, Skankees 5:
As if it didn’t even happen…

Posted by Christine E. at 10:56 am in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox No Comments

So, after a weekend of ups and downs, and having to look at the ugly-assed Skankees for 4 freaking days, the Sox end up the same distance between the Skanks (4 games) as they had on Friday morning? Great….

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the distance between the Sox and the 1st place team–the Rays, who are now 5 (7 in the loss column) games ahead of the Sox…

Wake, in another competent start, went 6.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits (including the homer to A-Fraud) while walking 1 and striking out 5. He threw 95 pitches, 66 for strikes, but once again, the Sox could do very little to get him a win–AGAIN…

I understand that some people are HUGE Star Wars Fan–I do, but WHY would you want your nickname to be after some disgusting fat pile of goo? Not that Joba (Chamberlain, not the Hut) are anything to look at–actually, he is rather revolting–so maybe I have my answer…Yeah, I know, that sounded better in my head…

How bizarre is this? The Rays have the best team in baseball now, and are only sending TWO players to the All-star game–the Sox? 7…and they are: Kevin Youkilis, Dustin Pedroia, JD Drew (all going for the 1st time) Manny (who will probably blow it off) Big Papi (who is going, but will not play, due to his wrist injury) Jonathan Papelbon, and Jason Varitek. Of course, Tito Francona is the manager of the AL team, as the Sox won the World Series last year. The game is next Tuesday, beginning at about 9:00pm, after an hour of nonsense (also called a preshow) by FOX…

And the biggest snub of all is Mike Lowell–who did not even get onto the “Final Man” ballot–but Porn star look-alike (which is ironic, as he has probably taken so many steroids…) Giamb-O is on the 5-man ballot–someone else needs to win: Here are the others:

    Jermaine Dye (ChiSox)

    Jose Guillen (KC Royals)

    Evan Longoria (Tampa Bay)

    Brian Roberts (Baltimore)

You have until 5:00pm on Thursday to vote….

OK, WTF with the pinch-hit at-bat of Manny’s last night???? 3 pitches by Mariano Rivera, 3 strikes, and the BAT DID NOT EVEN LEAVE HIS SHOULDER??? Is he bailing on the team again, like he did in 2005 when he has a “bad knee”?? So now he is VIOLENT, and may be giving up on the team, and yet the Sox management does nothing? How embarrassing….

In a move that surprised no one–Mrs. A-Fraud, Cynthia, filed for divorce citing: “Alex has emotionally abandoned his wife and children, and has left her with no choice but to divorce him…(the marriage is) irretrievably broken because of the husband’s extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct.” Emotional Abandonment? What a shock…Great job A-Fraud….They just had their 2nd child together at the end of April–and the latest and dalliance? Allegedly Madonna…supposedly he is even learning Kabala, which has been made very popular by in popular culture by, you guessed it: Madonna… But its all good–the more distractions for A-Fraud, the better it is….

Coming up: The Sox return home after their abysmal (3-7) road trip to meet up with the Twins for 3, and then Baltimore for 3–and then it’s off to the All-Star Break. Daisuke gets the start tonight against Scott Baker of Minnesota. 1st pitch is 7:05pm…
