    Red Sox 6, Oreos 3:
On the Road to the Holy Land…

Posted by Christine E. at 3:20 pm in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox Comment (1)

So I am into hour 4 of the 6 hour drive to Fenway Park, aka, Mecca, nirvana, insert your favorite place here–weather is beautiful, and is supposed to be STUNNING for the game tonight. I…cannot…wait…

I have chosen a winner of the DVD, and I have contacted them. As soon as I hear back, I will let you know. Thank you to everyone who participated. I hope you enjoyed your time at Boston Red Thoughts–and I hope you will continue to comments, even when there is nothing to win…

David Ortiz, US Citizen: At the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston, yesterday, Big Papi joined 227 other immigrants who raised their right hands and recited the Oath of Citizenship and the Pledge of Allegiance, to become Americans. Now, once the law the does not allow folks who were not born here to be President (and if Governator has anything to say about it, it will happen) Big Papi is one step closer to becoming President of the United States…

So, will Bartolo Colon be the big story of the year? How the Sox picked him off the scrap heap, only 2 years removed from his 2005 Cy Young Award? Last night, rebounding from his super crappy start of last week, where he gave up 5 runs in an 8-0 debacle, Colon has his 150th career win, with a very good outing, giving up only 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 7 and walking 1 in 6 innings, throwing 93, 59 for strikes…

The fact that the Sox had a 5-0 lead before he even threw a pitch, including a 3-run shot by an ill Jason Varitek, certainly did not hurt…

I heard from the guys at Serious Sports Networkthe other day, if you want a good laugh, check these guys out. One of hhe articles I read was about Jamie Shields, the Rays pitcher involved in the whole Coco Crisp brouhaha. It mentioned that he was so embarrassed about his “girly punches” at Crisp that in addition to the 6 game suspension he was served by MLB, he added 4 of his own. Good stuff–check them out!

Tonight: Jon Lester and Jeremy Guthrie face off in the finale of this 3 game series against the Oreos, and the final game of this 9 game homestand. 1st pitch is 6:05pm–and I WILL BE THERE–whoo hooo!!!
