    Red Sox 0, Seattle 1:
    2 out of 3–Sucks out loud…

Why does it always seem that when Tim Wakefield throws a brilliant game, the Sox cannot manage to get him a win? His line: 8 innings, giving up the 1 run (on the solo shot to Yuniesky Betancourt in the 3rd) on 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking none…From Wake: “It was one of those nights where I made some adjustments mechanically from my last start working with John [Farrell] and Kevin [Cash] and it paid off. Unfortunately, I came out on the short end of the stick. It was one of those games where you try to pull as many positive things out of it as you can and move on.”

But Eric Bedard, who used to kick Sox butt when he was with Baltimore ( 4-1 with a 2.7 ERA in his last 4 starts against the Sox….) was that much better, only giving up 2 hits and zero runs in 7 innings…

The Sox have not sucked this bad on the road since 1987, when they were 10-20–right now they are 11-19…and in the last 12 road games? They have lost 10…UGH…

Teetering on the brink: Manny is currently at 499 homers–and he has hit 10 at Camden Yards over 195 career appearances–will this be the weekend he hits 500? Or will he hold off until next week, when the Sox return home for 9 games?

Looks like Youk will be back in action for tomorrow night’s game, after missing 3 with a sore right hand: It’s just a little sore when I make contact but it’s slowly progressing and going away. I’ll be OK. I should be ready to go (tomorrow).” Sean Casey has been playing in his place, and doing a bang up job, having 3 hits in Tuesday night’s game…

2 weeks today–when the Sox play their last game of a 9 game home stand, I will be at Fenway for that—whoo hooo!! I have not been back to Fenway since 2005–and it’s been FAR too long!

While, I don’t question Tito as much as I did (and never as much as I did Grady Little<shudder>) but WHY ON EARTH are you putting Mike Timlin in a game at Safeco, when its probably not even a good idea to have him in the whole state of Seattle??? His record at Safeco? 0-6–with a 10.29 ERA….and yes, that includes the winning run he gave up during Tuesday night’s game…

Ya know the horrendous image that is circulating around baseball? You know the one, Jeter and his fist pump? You can get that image in just about anything, including a “Derek Jeter Stein” handcrafted by The Hamilton Collections–also features the Skankee logo and his autograph-and it only costs $39.95…and its parts of a greater series including A-Fraud, Skeezy Bastard, Robinson Cano and more…..ewwww…..

Tonight: A night off as the Sox travel back to the right coast to face Baltimore at a normal time tomorrow to kick off a 4 game series. 1st pitch is 7:05pm, with Josh Beckett on the mound, hopefully to right this ship. Daniel Cabrera will pitch for the Oreos….
