    Red Sox 5, Seattle 3:
    Well, it’s about freaking time….

How can a team who is ON FIRE, winning 7 in a row, leave the confines of Fenway Park, and totally turn into a different team? The general feeling is that if you can go .500 on the road, and about .600-.700 at home, you’ll make the playoff. Well, the Sox are having no problem with the home part (20-5, or .800) but their road record? Not so much (10-17, or .370) Last night’s win? The 1st road win since…wait for it…May freaking 10th…

Fortunately, Bartolo Colon (!!!) helped to right the ship in last night’s game–of which I saw about 10 minutes–these night games are killing me….

Colon had a better line thank his 1st outing: 7 innings, throwing 84 pitches, 68 for strikes, only giving up only 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1…

It’s all but decided that Clay Buchholz, who can come off the DL tomorrow, will be staying in Pawtucket, at least for the time being…

Talk about a crappy coincidence: Tons and tons of positive vibes are going out to Jon Lester’s Dad, John, who announced this weekend, that he too, has lymphoma, although it is a different variant than what struck Jon 2 years ago…

And, I understand the whole loyalty to your players through thick and thin–but this POINTLESS loyalty to Julio Lugo needs…to…stop…NOW… Its not like he is in a slump, like Mark Bellhorn was…From Tito: “Rather work with him than point a finger at him. I think that’s how we always feel. I agree, there are more errors than are healthy to win. But we don’t want to point fingers at him. We want to help him get better.” Uh, Tito, Lugo IS NOT GOING TO IMPROVE to any substantial degree. He is a sucky fielder–always has been–always will be…His 12 errors lead all of baseball for a shortstop…

Looks like Julian Tavarez will be heading to the Brewers, who are in need of a bullpen guy (Eric Gagne is on the DL–what a surprise). The terms of his deal are still being worked on…

Remember Geremi Gonzales? Bullpen guy from 2005 who used to call everyone “my friend” because he could not remember people names? He was struck by lightning and killed at his home in Venezuela this weekend. He had a 6.11 ERA and 2-1 record during his time with the Sox… Godspeed Geremi

Coming up: Daisuke goes for win #9, in the 2nd game of the 3 game series against Seattle. Miguel Batista pitches for the Mariners. 1st pitch: Middle of the night (10:10 p,). A good thing about a this game being at night–if Daisuke puts in another frustrating performance, chances are I’ll be asleep before too long….

Hi Christine! Sorry I’ve been away for so long; my trip to Boston and the kids have totally consumed my blog reading time. Colon is looking like the steal of the year and while I pull for Lugo everytime, it may be the time to see what Lowry can do for a little bit. If nothing else to give Lugo a rest.

Daisuke going for his 9th tonight!

      Hope you are well.

      Hey Ted:

Good to hear from you…:-) Totally understand the whole life getting in the way thing. Glad you had a great time on your trip to Fenway–in a little more than 2 weeks, I’ll be back as well…

Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike night games??? LOL

      Hope all is well!

      Go Sox!

      Nice post….

[…] Nicely said, even though this document is not newly posted. I agree with nearly all of your individual specifics, only advice I might provide is to view a few more related pics. Your post was appreciated. […]…
