    Red Sox 6, KC 3:
    Only 5 innings?

Yes, it was good enough to get the win, but I think he could have went longer, despite the fact he had to wait because of the 4-run 5th inning the Sox had….His line: 5 IP, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 4 and walking 2…he threw 74 pitches, 46 for strikes. Barring an unforeseen, he will start in Seattle on Monday night…

Looks like we will (hopefully) be seeing Brandon Moss again very soon. After hitting the cover off the ball in extended spring training (8 for 13 with a home, a triple, double, 2 walks and 5 RBI’s) he will be heading to Pawtucket for some more rehab. Can you believe its only 19 days since he had an appendectomy? IN his time with the Sox, consisting of 6 games, he batted .286 with 2 homers and 3 RBI’s…

And Fortunately, the fearsome foursome (Craig Hansen, Javier Lopez, MDC and Mike Timlin [stats] managed to hold the lead, only giving up 1 hit, 2 walks and 1 run, which were all, except for 1 walk, on Timlin–the rest of them had clean innings…

Neato Factoid: DO has called SEVEN no Hitters, including 4 in the minor leagues. Here is the list: Jon Lester, Clay Buchholz, Hideo Nomo, and minor leaguers, Paxton Crawford, Bill Pulsipher, Tomo Ohka (who threw a perfect game) and Juan Pena…

So Manny is at 498 homers, and has not hit one in 10 days, and the buzz is that he is “pressing”. Do you really think that Manny worries about things enough to be actually pressing? He’ll get there….would have been nice if he could do it at home–but unless he has a 2 run homer games today (which could always happen) more than likely it will happen on the 10 game road trip coming up….

SO, Hank Steinbrenner thinks the Skanks have hit rock bottom huh? They are currently 21-25, on the button of the AL East 7.5 games behind the Sox and sucking pretty bad…. And how bout the fact that their vaunted lineup is on pace to score a full 1/3 less than last year…HAHA I hear that Joba Chamberlain will be joining the rotation–I’d say go for it, its not like they can get much worse….again…HAHA

Coming up: Daisuke goes for win #7–both for himself and for the Sox current win streak. This will also close out the 4 game series with the Royals, and a 7 game home stand. Brian Bannister will pitch today for KC. 1st pitch 1:35pm…

Top of the 3rd, current score: 4-1, Sox, thanks to a Grand Slam by JD Drew in the 2nd inning…

And then it’s off to the left coast for 5 games in the middle of the night (and only 2 of them on the weekend…) YUK…
