    January 24, 2008:
More money than I will ever see in MY lifetime …

So the Skanks spent nearly a quarter of a BILLION dollars for a team that could not even get out of the 1st round of playoffs? The numbers came out yesterday–Not only did the Skanks waste a TON of money, they blew the doors off the record for most spent by a team in a season, by spending $218.3 million dollars to fund the less than successful 2007 campaign….And the previous record holder was also the Skanks, with $207.5 and 206.6 in 06 and 05, respectively–AND have held the top spot in spending for the last 9 years–with absolutely nothing to show for it…HA HA

Coming in 2nd was the Sox with $155.4 million, which is nothing to sneeze at either–but at least they won it all–that has to be worth something….

Rounding out the Top 5: The Dodgers ($125.6 million) the Mets ($120.9 million), and the Cubs ($115.9 million)…

Overall, the 30 baseball teams spent $2.71 BILLION dollars….Holy Buckets!

Arbitration hearings for Kevin Youkilis (Feb 18) and Kyle Snyder (Feb 7) have been set–Will Theo keep his sparkling track record of getting a deal done before the player heads to his hearing? The Sox are $300,000 apart with Kyle and $ 1.175 million apart with Youk…

What the hell is “striking inartfulness”???–That is what Barry Bonds and his legal team are calling the perjury changes against him–they also called them “scattershot”–but I know what that means….His defense seems to be that the questions that were asked during his 2003 Grand Jury were “…posed to him by two different prosecutors were frequently imprecise, redundant, overlapping and frequently compound.” Whatever….

3 weeks today Pitchers and Catchers report!
