    January 8, 2008:
    WHAT a Cluster…

    Posted by Christine E. at 12:33 pm in Baseball,Old Friends,Random Thoughts,Red Sox Comment (1)

Again I will say, Holy Buckets! Is this getting CRAZY or what? Roger got VERY cranky during his press conference yesterday, bitching out the press and anyone else within earshot. He even pulled out excepts from a phone call he has with his accuser, Brian McNamee, which has Brian CRYING and continually asking “What do you want me to do?” he also told him: “What do you want me to do? I’ll go to jail, I’ll do whatever you want…”

The apparent reason for the call is that McNamee contacted Roger and let him know his son was sick and dying. Apparently, McNamee’s 10-year old son has celiac disease, an inherited, auto immune disease where the lining of the small intestine is damaged from eating gluten (found in wheat, barley, and rye.)

From Mercenary: “He said his son was sick and dying. That’s why I reached out.” Yeah, OK Roger, this man allegedly trashed your life, so you are going to reach out and contact him? And better yet, your going to tape the conversation (Unfortunately, in NY and TX it’s not illegal to tape a phone conversation without one of the caller’s knowledge) and use it for your own purposes. And what about the fact that this child now has no dignity or privacy as he battles with this debilitating disease…WHAT a JERK you are….

And I like how Roger is talking about how his family is affected—if you in fact did this, YOU brought this on you and your family. And what about the fact that you named ALL of your sons names that begin with a “K” because you are a strikeout pitcher–how would YOU like to be a teenage boy and have a name like Koby, Kory, Kacy, and Kody–what the hell? Are they PROPS for their father’s ego??? If it quacks like a duck…

And can I just say that it SUCKS this will all mar the Hall of Fame Announcement today? Once again, someone else’s stupid drama will get in the way of what is important–honoring those who did it the right way…

2:00pm today, Hall of Fame President Dale Petrosky will announce the 2008 Hall of Fame election results. Anyone who is elected into the Hall of Fame is contacted prior to the public announcement…No locks this year, as there was with Cal Ripkin, Jr, and Tony Gwinn last year–so we will see if this is Jim Ed’s year or not–11% (the amount of ballots Rice needs to get to the 75% necessary for election) is a big jump…

:( for Jim Ed. He shoulda made it.

That press conference rivaled anything by Michael Jackson in the weird department. And Clemens is a dink for taping the conversation and then getting all in a rage at the end of the presser.

Congrats to Goose, btw. He should have been in a LONG time ago.
