October 20, 2007:
With a Little Help from Our Friends….
Right before I left work on Thursday, my friend Paul sent me this–I have no idea where it came from–and my apologies for not giving proper credit–if anyone knows who wrote it, let me know, and I will be happy to give it…
And I think we could all use a little face time with our deity of choice prior to tonight’s game, so here goes:
Our Father, who art at Fenway…
Baseball be thy game,
Thy kingdom come,
Playoffs need to be won,
On Earth, then on to the Cask ‘n’ Flagon.
Give us this day, a perfect Papi,
And forgive us our losses,
As we forgive those,
Like Eric Gagne.
And lead us not, into desperation,
But deliver us from any losses.
For thine is the Power,
And the Glory,
To beat the Indians,
Forever and ever…..the Yankees suck.
Amen
Play ball…
Go Sox!
