    Cleveland 6, Skankees 4:
    Jeter, A-Fraud and Skeezy Bastard
    are playing Golf Today!

    HA HA

And for the 3rd time in as many years, the Skanks are removed in the 1st round of Postseason Play…I think it all comes to their inability to get clutch hits against any kind of decent pitching. The most shocking thing was Jeter–wow, did he crash and burn or what? He hit into THREE GIDP’s during this series–and had an average of .176. And there is nothing to say about A-Fraud–he had a couple of hits and a homer (a solo shot–when it did really matter anymore) but his average in the series was what? 267? But watch, while he fared MUCH better that “Jeets!”, no one will ever actually SAY that…

So it will be interesting to see the fallout from the Skanks losing in the 1st round. Will Steinbrenner really fire Joe Torre? Will Posada and Rivera go somewhere else? Will A-Fraud take the money and run?

Can I just say how RELIEVED that the Sox will not be facing the Skankees in the postseason? At this point, 7 games with THEM would have probably caused multiple organ failure…

While I still want the Sox to advance and win the World Series, if Cleveland beats the Sox and advances, that would bother me ALOT less than if the Skanks did it….Plus the fact that the last time Cleveland won a WS, my Dad, a HUGE Cleveland fan, was 5 years old–he would really like for it to happen again…

And no matter what happens, I think its going to be a SUPER series of baseball…

So, lets look at my predictions: It seems I got all the teams right–I just boogered up the whole how many game it would take–But I am not sure ANYONE could have predicted 3 sweeps in the ALDS–TBS must be scrambling wildly to try to fill the gaping prime time space left open by the shorten series:

    My Predictions:

The Sox will beat the Angels in 4 (It only took 3!)

Cleveland will be the Skankees in 5 (It only took 4!)

Colorado in 5 (It only took 3!)

Arizona in 4 (It only took 3!)

I am revising my ALCS Predictions–still the same teams will win (Red Sox and Colorado) but it will be

The Sox will beat Cleveland in 7

Colorado will beat Arizona in 5…

And the potential WS matchups pretty much guarantee I will be watching SOME World Series baseball:

    Sox vs Colorado

    Sox vs Arizona

    or

    Cleveland vs Colorado

    Cleveland vs Arizona

A nation waits: Will Tim Wakefield’s back/shoulder/etc etc be calm enough for him to start and be added to the ALCS roster? All indications are that he is on the right path, as his last side session went well. He’ll throw again today, and then in a simulated game. If Tim is added, the most likely subtraction will be 3rd catcher, Kevin Cash, as Mirabelli will catch Wake in any start he makes….

So what is up with these bizarre-ass times for the ALCS? 7:10 is pretty normal-but 8:21pm? This Friday and next Monday the 15th are 7:10, but then Saturday the 13th, Tuesday the 16th and Thursday the 18th (if needed) are all 8:21pm. Fox has not released the times for the final 2 games, if they need to be played…

Speaking of Fox, what are Joe Buck and Tim McCarver going to do, now that the Skankees are not in the postseason? Lets see how many times they mention the Skanks during the series–and I would not be the LEAST bit surprised if one of their color guys for the ALCS is none other than a member of the NY Skankees: Johnny Damon, or A-Fraud, or, be still my heart, Jeter…UGH…

Coming up: Still THREE more days without AL baseball–YUK! (The NLCS starts on Thursday, for those of you who are interested…) And then on Friday, 7:10pm, it all begins great pitching matchups against 2 very good teams. Josh Beckett takes the mound against CC Sabathia in game 1 of the American League Championship Series…

    1. Ted D says:

Christine, no drama this year. Just 2 teams battling it out.

Beckett vs Sabbathia and Schill vs Carmona: doesn’t get much better than that. Thank you Tribe for sending the MFY’s into the off season, and please remember you used up all your bullets early.

Now, what in the world are we going to do until Friday?
