    Red Sox 5, Minnesota 2:
The AL East Division Champs: The Boston Red Sox…

    WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Holy Buckets! If you had told me this is how the race for th AL East would end, I would have told you you were NUTS! Even watching it unfold last night was unbelievable. The Sox win, in a great fashion, behind a resurgent Daisuke, pitching 8 strong, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits (including a homer) while walking 2 and striking out 8–Against the team that strikes out the least in the AL…

So then everyone is hanging around Fenway to watch the Skankee Oreo game on the Jumbo-Tron, and it looks like the Sox will have to fight another day–Bottom of the 9th, 9-6, Skanks are winning, and Mariano Rivera comes to the mound. And I say to my husband, “Yeah, sure, the Sox can be Mariano, but the cookies? No Way” and then he proceeds to load the bases and gives up a base clearing double (which end up being a triple because Bobby Abreu let the ball get away from him in right field…) and the score is TIED…He managed to get the final out to leave the score tied and then–and they go into the 10th…Where the Oreos intent walk the bases loaded and then get out of the jam–and then come back to load the bases (with 2 intent walks themselves) and Melvin Mora puts down this BEAUTIFUL bunt and score the runner to win the game…HA HA…

    AND FENWAY GOES NUTS…

Fortunately, the powers that be at Direct TV allowed it all to be shown, instead of shutting it right down after the game like they usually do, so we got the commentary from TC and Eck and the craziness that was Fenway last night, from Jonathan Papelbon running around with a 12 pack beer box on his head, to Wake kissing ‘Tek on the cheek–and then slapping him on the ass…

Whew! That is such a relief! The Skankee do NOT win the division, so we dont have to hear how the standing in the AL East are the same as they have been since te dawn of time, blah blah blah…

So today, is a GREAT day–the Sox are AL East Champions…and maybe NOW we’ll get to see Matt Clement pitch in one of these 2 remaining games–how cool woul that be–although it is doubtful..

Coming up: Tim Wakefield takes the mound for his final start of the 2007 regular season. Hopefully he will return to the dominance he showed during the season. 1st pitch 7:05pm Carlos Silva goes for Minnesota.

Holy Buckets Christine! THEY DID IT! And I didn’t know DirecTV stayed with it: I have the $12 sports package that gets NESN, so I was watching the whole thing. The Riverdance by Pap had to be the high point, but Lowell and Timlin went crazy too. I hate Manny, JD, Tavarez, and some of the others had left and missed it, but I think they were like you and me: hoping the O’s could get to Rivera, but who really believed they could?

Plus, him gacking that up can’t be a positive for the Yankees moving forward: win/win for us!

      GO SOX!!!!
