    Red Sox 7, Angels 2:
Does this count as a sweep?

Posted by Christine E. at 6:52 pm in Baseball,Random Thoughts,Red Sox Comments (2)

I know we still have one more game to play to finish out this series–but its not until freaking AUGUST–the world could be over by August, hell, I’ll be MARRIED by August! So I think we can call this a sweep and move on.

I have not seen the Angels play this poorly in a VERY long time. The Sox outscored them 25-3, and wrapped it up in this afternoon’s game where once again, Josh Beckett pitched a beautiful game: 6 Innings throwing 99 pitches, 67 for strikes (Still needs to work on being more economical with his pitches…) and only gave up the 1 run, on a homer to the OC of all people! He also struck out 5 and walked 1…

While I am thrilled that Beckett is doing so well, I think I will wait a bit longer to say he’s all turned around–let’s not forget he started the 2006 campaign in the same fashion–with a 3-0 record…and then he pretty much went to hell in a hand basket…

Wily Mo-000: After have his last 2 potential “opening days” rained out, today was a rather disappointing one for Wily Mo. Replacing the very soggy (at least for the moment) Coco Crisp, Wily Mo went 0-3 with 2 strikeouts and a walk…But kudos for the outfield assist to get Howie Kendricks out at 2nd…

So I was at the pool with my fiancé and his kids this weekend and I see this guy swimming at the other end of the pool with this tattoo of the Skankee Logo on his shoulder blade, the whole thing–the baseball, the stupid hat, the whole 9…and it’s about the size of a grapefruit. Why on EARTH would someone put THAT on their body for all eternity??? Crap, if you are into mutilation….cut off your ARM or something…

Coming up: Daisuke and the Sox head to Canada to face Toronto Tuesday night. Scary looking Gustavo Chacin toes the mound for the Blue Jays at 7:07pm…

Christine, I’m going to ignore your questions about Beckett and go to the next part of your post. 🙂

I think WMP will be fine if he gets some regular work: spot starting is not the best way to gauge a player’s performance.

Congrats on the wedding: when is the blessed day? Your finance is getting quite a catch, just based on your Red Sox knowledge alone!

Can’t wait to see Daisuke tomorrow night: the next 24 hours or so can’t come soon enough.

      Take care,

Friday, July 13th is the lucky day…if you knew my fiance’ and I, you’d understand…Fortunately, he is a Red Sox fan…:-)

I agree–Wily MO is very underrated–I just wish they could send him to Pawtucket for like 6 weeks and really work on him..he needs time..

      Hope you are well!

      Go Sox!
