So….How do you say “Oh Crap” in Japanese???

Posted by Christine E. at 11:13 am in Red Sox Comments (4)

The Red Sox Brass, pretty much sick and tired of the BS that is Scott Boras, have arrived on his doorstep to pretty much force a negotiation… To me, a negotiation is where two sides offer and counter offer, making compromises, until a deal is reached. I guess Satan didn’t get that memo–if this shocks me, maybe I should read that sentence again, with the emphasis on the SATAN part.

He has thrown down the gauntlet; Despite saying that Matsuzaka would be made available to the media, Boras met with the press himself and stated “(He) is worth well in excess of $100 million.” and what a shocker–his client was nowhere to be found…

So, the bottom line: Is this guy is a better pitcher than Pedro?, or Randy Johnson in his prime? Or Curt Schilling? And how exactly do we know this? Based on the fact that he is the best pitcher IN JAPAN…and How exactly do they measure up in the grand scheme of things? Somewhere between Triple A and the National League…

And here is a statement that make me want to PUKE…”In Japan, he’s known as the national treasure,” Boras said in his press conference “Here, he will be known as Fort Knox.” F^*^K YOU Scott, Boras…What if he cannot make the transition, and he SUCKS, then what??? It’s not like it has not happened before…

Citing that the newest Red Sox offer “is more than any other Japanese player has ever been offer”, Theo, John Henry and Larry Lucchino will be sitting down with Boras to hammer out a deal–or not…Their 2nd offer (they have not even had a counter offer to their 1st offer) is reportedly around $10 million/6 years. THAT I can live with, but if they cave and give him the $15-20 million Boras wants, I will not be happy.

Let me clarify: I have no problem with the Sox spending money–I just don’t like them spending money foolishly. Frankly, I feel like they have been acting like the Skankees the last few weeks–spending boatloads of money on problem players…and if they negotiate with this man–its like negotiating with a kidnapper, or a terrorist–you are stuck–forever…
Boras keeps saying: “This decision is going to be Daisuke’s, he has to make the call,” So, why do I have trouble believing that? The Japanese culture is all about honorable–is it honorable to want millions and millions or dollars, without throwing a pitch? Is it honorable to choose the skuzziest, most unethical, disingenuous agent there is? Is it honorable to accept all of the accolades from your countrymen at a big ” say good-bye” fest, and then return home because $7-8 MILLION dollars a year wasn’t enough? The average salary in Japan is under $30 THOUSAND dollar a year…

In other news (Yes, believe it or not, the earth is still turning…) J.D. Drew ($70 million/5 year) and Julio Lugo ( $36 million 4 year) will more than likely be introduced as Red Sox today…

The next 2 days should be interesting…

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet
effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance”
between user friendliness and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a excellent job with this.
Additionally, the blog loads exttremely fast for me on
      Chrome. Outstanding Blog!
