    Tigers 2, Cardinals 4 110 days until Pitchers and Catchers…

    Congratulations to the St Louis Cardinals for winning their 1st World Series Championship since 1982.. While I am disappointed the Tigers did not at least make it more interesting–it seems like they used “it” (and I don’t think it’s Tim Curry in a clown costume…) all up to get to the big game, and then completely melted down and were outdone in every catagory–pitching, hitting, defense. To take nothing awat from the Cardinals who got it done when they needed it to–I think some of the credit must be given to Tigers as well–at times, they beat themselves–and that is where the major part of my disappoinment lies…

    Some random thoughts:

    Congrats to David Eckstein, the World Series MVP–I cannot think of a more deserving person…

    Tigers picthing had 5 errors during the Series–one per game–that is one more than Greg Maddux made in 102 starts over the last THREE YEARS.

    Knuckleball pitcher Joe Niekro died Friday of a brain aneurysm. He was 61. Niekro won 221 games in his career, and between he and his Hall of Fame brother, Phil, who was also a knuckleball picther, had a combined 539 major league victories, a record for brothers. Both were know to have helped Tim Wakefiled when he started out with the crazy butterfly pitch. Godspeed Joe…

    Barry Bonds filed for free agency today–Don’t even THINK about it…

    So, when is the stove going to be hot???

    Over 3 months of no baseball–UGH…I miss it aleady…but I am hopeful there will be stiff to write about….There will be stuff to write about–right Theo?

    And speaking of the World Series–2 Years Ago yesterday…still amazes me what the Sox did…

      St Louis had all this postseason experience over the years:

      It was their time, having vanquished “The Curse of Keith Hernandez”;

      Now, it’s quiet in The FOX Booth, as “Sophocles Of The Diamond” is no longer giving explanations, which the Mass. Institute Of Technoloy, has no explanation of theory for.

      But these next few months of the off-season will be filled with stuff to write about. Theo has his work cut out for him. Can you say C L O S E R? And that’s just the start. I can’t wait to write. Hope your weekend was great Christine!
