Mets 1, Cardinals 3 Well, THAT could have went better…

Posted by Christine E. at 2:28 pm in General Comments (4)

Oh CRAP…The Mets held on to a 1-1 tie game until the 9th inning, where Mets reliever Aaron Heilman gave up a 2-run homer to the 3rd Molina–Yadier, who only had SIX homers all season…CRAP…and then with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, their premier closer (think: Jonathan Papelbon) Adam Wainwright, struck out Carlon Beltran looking to end the game…

I really feel for the Mets–It felt to me how we felt at game 7 of the 2003 ALCS (without Grady Little, naturally) and what probably makes it the suckiest of them all–they has to watch the Lounge Lizard and his cadre celebrate on their turf…

So, with 1 days rest, the St Louis “always a bridesmaid, never a bride” Cardinals head to Detroit to take on the soon to be 2006 World Series Champions–the Detroit Tigers….Hope I’m not jinxing them….

I think: Tigers in 6..and when this is all over, we can actually get back to the business of rebuilding the Red Sox! Whoo Hoo!

Saturday night, 8:05pm FOX…Let the games begin…Go Tigers!!!

Now, it’s on to Tiger Town & the Sweep of Senor Sunglasses & Lord Albert of The Pu Ho:

“The Classless One” will get his comeuppance, like Bonds did in ’02.

And suddenly, so quickly, it’s Saturday morning, cool and bright. And game 1 is staring us straight in the face. Enjoy Christine.

So how does it feel to be wrong…the bridesmaid never a bride cardinals are one win away from being world series champs!! We have been the under dog the whole time and we love it here in STL. We had a bad reg. season but we all knew how good this team really was when all heathy. The sox played a beat up cards team in 04 with no Carpenter on the mound…so you got lucky and finally won one and now your not even in the playoffs…so dont hate just because we have been one of the best teams in baseball sence 2000 and really right at the top over the last 100 years!! 17 time N.L.champs 10 time W.S. champs!!!

Thanks so much for your comments, Kevin. I have 1 or 2 of my own…:-D

“So how does it feel to be wrong?” hmmmm… Well, Kevin, it’s certainly not the 1st time in my life I have been wrong, and certainly not the last…and if your going to ask me that question–why don’t you ask me about something I actually CARE about? ‘Cause the Cardinals winning the WS over the Tigers doesn’t even crack the top 100…

So, your theory is, that if Chris Carpenter was well, the 2004 WS vs the Sox would have ended differently? Ya know what, you’re probably right–The Cardinals would have won ONE game. Because even it he was in perfect health, Carpenter couldn’t pitch ’em all.

I won’t keep you any longer, as I am SURE you are horribly busy spreading vitriol on ALL the websites that have predicted and commented that the Tigers would win the World Series–which, with the exception of Cardinals fans, is pretty much THE WHOLE WORLD…

      Go Tigers!
