    Tigers 8, Oakland 3 Mets 0, Cardinals 5 Mets 12, Cardinal 5 Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad…

The Tigers sweep! Whooo Hooo! and now they have a week to rest, recuperate and get Zumaya’s arm back in shape for the BIG show…

I predicted the Tigers in 5, guess I gave Choakland a bit too much credit…

And the Mets came alive in the “must win” game last night, pummeling the Cardinals with a lovely 6 run inning…and Oliver Perez kept them in the game, going 5 2/3 innings, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits, including three home runs…It could have been ALOT worse–his record for the 2006 campaign? 3-13 with a 6.55 ERA in 22 starts, a .188 winning percentage, which is the WORST of anyone who has ever started a postseason game…WOW. Willie Randolph must have nerves of steel to throw him out there–thankfully it paid off…

So now tonight, with the series tied 2-2, Tom Glavine and Jeff Weaver (yeah, THAT Jeff Weaver…)will start on 3 days rest, so it should be interesting. BUT, The National Weather Service in St Louis is calling for a 100% chance of rain today and, an 80% chance of rain tonight, so their day off may be today, rather than tomorrow…Then, they will return to one of my favorite cities in the world, New York (LOVE the city, hate 1/2 of their baseball teams)which will, hopefully, give them the impetus to win…

This can end up being the World Series I was hoping for–the Tigers and the Mets..and while I would like to see the Tigers take it all, I would truly not be that upset to see the Mets win.

    We’ll see what happens…

If it doesn’t rain, Mets vs Cardinals tonight, 8:05pm…

It is rained out but it helps Tom Glavine and Jeff Weaver. They now get the extra day of rest.
