    Red Sox 6, Oreos 5 Barely…just barely….

Posted by Christine E. at 9:40 am in General Comment (1)

We actually won this game on the play that I always see done, but never really seems to work…Mike Timlin intentionally walked Miguel Tejada and then got Ramon Hernandez to GIDP. And it’s a good thing he did: Melvin Mora was the tying run at third…

Schilling threw his simulated game yesterday and will probably start Wednesday at Fenway against the Twins..which does absolutely nothing to help us this weekend…

What a Shocker…: Tito announced last night that “there’s a chance” Manny will be shut down for the season…”He wants to play, but he can’t.”Francona said “As much as we don’t want to hear it, rest is probably what he needs” Which is completely expected, and exactly what we don’t want to hear as we begin a 4-game series in HELL…

Because of the Skankee and Sox wins last night, the Skanks reduced their magic number to clinch the AL East to six–could clinch this weekend….The magic number will decrease when they get a win, and the Sox get a loss..Lets break it down:

Sox sweep the Skanks (HIGHLY unlikely…): The magic number stays at 6; No clinch this weekend…
Sox win 3, Skanks win 1; Magic number is 4; No clinch this weekend
Sox win 2, Skanks win 2: Magic number is 2; No clinch this weekend
Sox win 1, Skanks win 3; Magic number is 0; Skanks clinch after 3rd win…
Skanks sweep the Sox (fairly likely, as much as it pains me to say…);They clinch Saturday night…

So the bottom line is we need to win 2….can it be done? Absolutely…Will it? Confidence is not high….and it sucks out loud in about 9 different colors, that it has come to this…

Skankee commentator Jim Kaat’s will be calling his last game tonight. For some reason, Skankee fans actually think he was wonderful (but then again, we know what a smart bunch they are…) What made me craziest? Here is a grown man, and everyone called him “kitty!” UGH… For the most part, I cannot stand the Skankee commentation, (Is that a word?) but one good thing about it: when the Skanks are not doing well, they have no qualms about throwing them right under the bus, which is always amusing….”Kitty!” has held this job since 1995, and will now RV across the land with his wife, Litter…

Maybe they can get Bob Ryan to replace him, since he was doing a great job kissing Jeter’s ass in his article yesterday..isn’t that a qualification to be a Skankee commentator? He actually used the word “anoint” to refer to Jeter and the MVP–What is UP with THAT???

And you KNOW what the YES Network will be talking/whining/bitching about….David Ortiz besmirching their precious CAPTain…and the reason I know this? I live in Pennsylvania, and never get to see the Skankee games on NESN–its the Yes Network..all the time….and if I didn’t have the Yes network? I would not get to see the games…sometimes I can get it on ESPN, but most of the time, King George has that blocked too…this is the way of the world in Skankee land…

I am NOT looking froward to this weekend…AT ALL…

Tonight: Josh Beckett vs Chien-Ming Wang 7:05pm

The one thing we have to avoid is allowing that hated team from NYC to clinch while we’re on the same field. That would be ugly. The Yankees deserve to be where they are (aaahhhh!). But we have to stand up and say “you ain’t going to clinch against us!” I know you agree with me on this one. Have a great weekend.
