Red Sox 6, Oreos 5 By the Skin of Our Teeth…

At least Mike Timlin had the good graces not to start that “I threw the ball exceptionally well..” Cat Sh*t with regard to his uber-sack of awfulness and YUCK last night…”I wasn’t real happy with the way I threw,” said Timlin, . “I didn’t throw real well, I hit my spots 30 percent of the time. And when I did get the ball down, I still got hit. I just pitched real bad, there’s no other way to say it.” Your right, Mike, your ERA since the All Start Break is 6.92…UGH…

Wake is Back! Tim Wakefield returns from the DL tonight, where he has been healing a stress fracture in his ribcage. He is making his 1st start since July 17. I wish for him 7 strong of 1 hit ball…Tito indicated he will be kept to a pitch count of about 90…

I guess I spoke too soon: Apparently, Lenny DiNardo will start Thursday night vs the Oreos, “I don’t think you can get a complete read on guys in September, Spring Training the same thing,” said Tito, “But I think it’s important for us to try to get as much of a read on some of these guys as we can. This move bumps Kevin “I haven’t won a start in the last 3 years” Jarvis to pitching against the Skanks….Great….

Is Manny done for the year? As he sits for the 2nd time in as many game, and 13 out of the last 20, the big question is whether or not he will be back this year…Said Tito. “I guess we could get to a point where the trainers say that’s the right thing to do, but I haven’t heard them say that yet. I think it comes down what he can tolerate…If he gets to a point in a little while, maybe that’s something we need to talk about.” It’s just interesting to wonder sometimes if he would be about to bear the pain a bit better if the Sox were still in contention… Wily Mo replaced him in the field, and in the order…

Rising from the dead?? The plan for Matt Clement is to have him throw off a mound at Fenway next Tuesday, to see if there is any chance in hell he would actually pitch for the team that is paying him a skajillion dollars a year, before the season ends…Does anyone want to be that will happen? I have a better chance of pitching this season than he does…

Something for the though locker: we need to win 4 more games to not end the season with a record UNDER 500…with 18 games to go…5 of them again the Oreos…

Tonight: Tim Wakefield (Yeah!) vs Erik Bedard, 7:05pm
