    Red Sox 9, Kansas City 10 C’mon guys…

Posted by Christine E. at 9:05 pm in General Comment (1)

You would THINK that NINE runs would be enough to win a ballgame–especially against the Kansas City Royals…ARGH…

    But thanks to Jason Johnson…er…Kevin Jarvis (5IP, 10 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1BB, 1 SO and 1 HR (a 3-run shot…), with 89 pitches, 59 for strikes.and a health 8.85 ERA–8.85!!! And the most HORRIBLE thing? He hasn’t WON A FREAKIN START in the LAST 3 YEARS…Holy Buckets? Is this what we have been reduced to?

And thank you, Mike Timlin, for pitching “exceptionally well”, giving up those 2 runs in the 9th were just what the Dr. ordered…

Buh Bye: In a move that was probably the best thing they have done in a while, the Sox released JV Lopez on Friday. In 18 games with the Red Sox, JV batted just .190 with no homers and four RBIs in 63 at-bats, and finished his tenure with the Red Sox in a 1-for-18 slump. Ken Huckaby takes Lopez’s spot on the roster…

Some good new tho–a 6 run 8th inning! Howe long has it been since we had one of those??? The Sox have only had seven runs in the previous FIVE games; so the 2-run shot by Jason Varitek and the 2-run single from Big Papi ( who also hit a ground rule double and a triple in the contest…) were a welcome change,

Return of the Big Guns: Apparently Tim Wakefield is tentatively scheduled to pitch Wednesday against Oreos on Wednesday, and Schilling will pitch either Thursday against the Oreos, or Friday against the Skanks..As thrilled I am to have them back, I think it’s a case of too little, too late…

Tonight: Josh Beckett vs Luke Hudson, 7:05pm

Last night was cruel. Especially for Tito. I really do not have much more to say..except, never give up. But the sand is running through our hourglass…too quickly. Bye.
