    Sox vs the Skanks: Let the games begin!

    Posted by Christine E. at 8:33 am in General No Comments

    Let’s just get this out of the way: The last time the Yankees came to the Fens for a five-game set, in 1959, the Sox swept all five. Could history repeat itself? Anything is possible…Let’s break this down…

    Since the Skanks lost 2 of three to the Oreos,(who DOES that???) they are entering the this weekend’s festivities only 1.5 games ahead of the Sox in the Standings…

    Key:
    GB = Games Behind
    GA = Games Ahead

    We win 0/ They Win 5: We end up 6.5 GB on Tuesday morning…and there is a max exodus to the Tobin Bridge by Red Sox Nation.

    We win 1/ They Win 4: We end up 4.5 GB on Tuesday morning…

    We win 2/ They Win 3: We end up 2.5 GB on Tuesday morning…

    We win 3/ They Win 2: We end up .5 GB on Tuesday morning…

    We win 4/ They Win 1: We end up 1.5 GA on Tuesday morning…

    We win 5/ They win 0: We end up 3.5 GA on Tuesday morning…and there is a mass celebration by Red Sox Nation.

    If we have any chance at all–it needs to be at least 3 wins….which is what I predict will happen…

    How can you not love this guy? Mike Lowell was asked: How many games to five against the Skanks equate in normal terms? “You mean, in dog years?” he said “I have no idea. We really can’t get wrapped up . . . it seems like a cliche, but you really have to take it one game at a time. Even the doubleheader. Take the first, no matter what happens, go after the second one. Because if you get wrapped up in what the pile of games might mean, you’re just adding a distraction to something we really have to be focused on.”

    Limited Blogging this weekend…I am heading to the Jersey Shore for some sand and surf…but, yeah, I’ll be watching…
