Red Sox 2, Seattle 5 Red Sox 8, Seattle 9 Red Sox 7 , Oakland 4 Overall, that could have gone better…

Have I mentioned how much I HATE West Coast games? Holy Buckets! it sucks having to get up at the ass-crack of dawn only to find out your team was pummeled the night before–crappy news to process before I get my
coffee…Fortunately, we got to do the pummeling of the elephants last night….

    Some random thoughts…

Kason seems to have done well…unfortunately, MLB Extra Innings decided not to show that game, so I was SOL in terms of actually watching his performance, but he had a pretty impressive line for a Major League Debut…5.1 IP, H, 3, 2 ER 2BB 3SO, 99 pitches, 59 for strikes and a 3.38 ERA…

The person who really screwed the pooch in that game was…wait for it…No, not Rudy Seanez–but close!…Julian Tavarez…and I hear that the potential deal to banish….er….TRADE him to the Colorado Rockies fell through because they will not assume his 3.1 million salary…wow..what a shocker…

And speaking of CRAP..what is this about sending Mike Lowell to the Padres for Jake Peavey??? We have one of the best infields we have EVER HAD, not to mention the best defense in baseball right now….why on earth would we screw that up? I know for a fact that defense has won us some game…Yes, I understand he is a very good/young pitcher, and we need one of those, but the Padres would have to be smoking CRACK to agree to a straight up trade like that..

I have decided to forget the debacle that was Sunday’s game….ESPECIALLY the in-the-park homerun….never happened…

David Wells’ simulated game went well yesterday, with him pitching about 5 innings of work. No word yet as to what the next step is, only to say that Wells’ ability to move on will be based on how he feels today. If all is well, chances are the next step would be a rehab appearance, with Wells rejoining the rotation as soon as two weeks…

Keith Foulke also threw a simulated game of two innings and 30 pitches. While Foulke felt his control was a little erratic, overall it went well. Foulke has been working on ironing out his mechanics…He’ll throw a bullpen on Wednesday. No timetable has been given for his return.

Last nights game was a big difference than Barry Zito’s game at Fenway..and Josh Beckett’s–who now is the 1st pitcher to reach 13 wins this year….and no blisters! Now, if he could do something about the constant homeruns (#28 happened last night…) he’ll be in good shape…Props to A-Gon (solo HR), Manny (3-Run Shot) and Big Papi (solo HR), for their offensive contributions…Am I the only one who never thought A-Gon would crack .230?

And a great big THANK YOU to Jay Payton for the GIDP in the 8th inning..I though Timlin was in trouble….but Payton managed to accommodate us, and give us those 2 big outs..he really showed us! I cannot stand him since the big Bullsh*t stunt he pulled last year–picking a fight with Tito so he would be released so he could play full time somewhere–totally BAD citizen stuff….good riddance to bad rubbish…Oakland is a perfect match for you…

Tonight: Curt Schilling goes for his 13th win vs. Jason Windsor 10:05pm…UGH
