Red Sox 1, Royals 0 What IS it with these 1-run games???

    And the sweep is complete!

A decidedly better game for Beckett than the 15-3 debacle of last week: 8 innings, 4 hits, 7 strikeouts, 0 walks, and 2 HBP…all of this with 110 pitches (78 for strikes.) Great way for him to celebrate his brand new 3-year contract, which also includes both a club option for 2010 as well as a vesting option, which would be based on the number of starts Beckett makes in 2009 or combined number of starts in ’08 and ’09..

Cannot forget that Papelbon preserved the win…Now I know how the Skankee fans felt when Rivera was in his prime…

I don’t even need to tell you how much we needed to win these 3 games–yes, it was just the Royals who suck, but a win is a win is a win, especially since we have been on the brink of moving into 2nd place in the division–Speaking on the Skankees, THEY LOST…..its 1.5 games behind for them….tehehehe.

Good news on David Wells: his simulated game of today has earned him–another simulated game! Word has it he may be back in the rotation within the next 2 weeks…I cannot even tell you how HUGE that would be to have him effective and back in the rotation…

Update on Matt Clement? Eh, not so much…

Some sources are saying that Wake has a fractured rib and that he will probably go on the DL…if that is all it is, that is much better than it could be…but he will still be out 3 weeks to a month….UGH…

Crappy schedule tomorrow as we head to the west coast…I hate 10:05 games–and it will be worse next month, when there is a span where we play 7 out of 8 games beginning at 10:05…UGH

On tap: Seattle–they have to be the team I hate most besides the Skanks…they just annoy me–to no end. Then off to Oakland, (I really don’t like them any better–they are still whining about Derek Lowe and his “obscene gesture” in the 2003 ALDS…)and then off to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Tennessee, Baltimore, United States of America, or whatever their name is this week–I really don’t mind them so much..I rooted for them in the 2002 WS…I just don’t like when we play them…

This afternoon: ANOTHER day game!–A quick make up game with the Rangers Schilling vs. John Rheinecker 2:05pm
