Red Sox 2, Twins 5 Julian Tavarez has GOT TO GO!!

Posted by Christine E. at 4:58 pm in General No Comments

Am I the only one who sees this???!! He and Rudy Seanez are POISON…They come into a game and it’s like watching a train wreck–cause 9 times out of 10 they manage to lose the game for us in some stupendously horrible fashion!!!

ANOTHER game we should have won… Schill pitched beautifully, as did Johan Santana (13 strikeouts!) and we managed to scratch out the go-ahead run in the 12th–all Tavarez had to do was hold onto it… and I was hopeful–he got Mauer to strike out on a beautiful pitch, but then he HITS the next guy and then there is the ground rule double (which was a gift from God we ungratefully spurned)THEN we have the obligatory walk to load the bases so they can get the double play…

Speak of which–Does that tactic ever even work??? I understand the concept: when there is 1 out and a man on 1st a pitcher is always 1 pitch away from getting out of the inning…But I cannot remember the last time that the Red Sox loaded the bases, and then actually GOT the ending inning double play…

What a Cat Sh*t way to end a game–freaking walk off GRAND SLAM…

And there are no decent relievers we could even trade for…but at this point, I think breathing (and no “Z” in their name!) might be enough of a qualification…

At least Timlin is back, and hopefully Foulke will get himself right while he is on the DL…and Van Buren isn’t so terrible…and Manny DelCarmen intrigues me–If Francona would ever let him pitch…

My recommendation: Drop the “Z” boys, and bring back Dave Pauley and some other guy from Pawtucket… they couldn’ suck any worse…

SOME good news tho! Gabe Kapler will probably be back with the team by the end of the month! WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO! When that happens…can Willie Mays Harris go away?

Tonight: Matt Clement (who says his arm is better…) vs. Brad Radke: 8:05pm
